Just got my letter from our SR made us so happy :)! Heading to Great Lakes for the PIR in April and can't wait to see him.
Just got our letter also. We are also in 02/922. I heard they are a performing division...So excited for that. Can't wait to see him.
Yes, my son wrote a short note on the back of the paperwork and said they are a performing division and he is part of the drill team. I knew we'd be happy to hear from him but todays note was more than mere happiness. Good to hear he is good.
Teachermom where are you from? Will you be going to the PIR?
I'm from Destin, FL. Already bought plane tickets...just can't decide on a hotel.
I got my letter today, and we are 02/922. We are from Louisiana. His note he wrote gave me mixed feelings, I was glad to hear from him, but he said processing was horrible. I can only imagine what comes next.
There is a website that tells you what they are doing each week in RTC. That helps me feel more like I am part it rather than wondering what he is doing. Is this your first in military?
I would like to know that website. Jacob is our youngest son, and is our first in the military.
Just as there is a forum for moms there is one for dads also. Here is a link off the Navy Dads site that has the information.
Ours is the youngest of 6 kids, he is our second one in the military. The oldest daughter was enlisted in the Navy when she was 19. So he too is our baby. :)
Hope the web site helps, it at least gives you an idea of what he is doing week to week while there.
Thanks, I will check that website out. Jacob didn't say anything about being a performing division. What does that mean?
Our son was in Marching Band...played sax. They have a band in the pictures so I assume that is what he is doing. Looks like we may have an extra reason to be proud at PIR.
Yes sure does look that way :) Can't wait. We are in Naples, FL. Haven't decided if we want to drive or fly yet.
No he wasn't in ROTC, he played the trombone in middle school
