Just got my letter from our SR made us so happy :)! Heading to Great Lakes for the PIR in April and can't wait to see him.
"P" days are "hell on earth"...no physical training and/or punishment during "P" days.I am guessing it is becuase they have to finish all their tests and be declared FFD - Fit For Duty before they can have any physical training. So, it's all mental...and a lot has to get done...and nobody knows what they are doing yet!
Ok, Ladies. By my count, this should be their second week in their ship. Copying from another post on this site, this shouldd be what they have done and are doing this week.
Week 1 (actually calendar week 2 ): Navy 101. Seamanship training, including matters such as line handling; a welcome from the commanding officer, the start of physical training, swim qualifications, and classes about special programs such as SEALs and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).
Week 2: Anti-terrorism training, drill instruction, bunk and locker inspections, the confidence course, dress uniforms, and the first written test.
My son will be fine with everything but the bunk and locker inspections. Maybe since the've been there, he has learned to be neater by now. They'll get him to be neat one way or the other! LOL
I hear they like the confidence course. Wish I could see him in his dress uniform. He may be my son and I may be prejudiced, but he is HANDSOME when he dresses up!
thanks for this info!!! nice to kind of "know" what they are doing :-)
Handsome means more girls around him.......lol........It was funny the last two days he was home I was trying to remember things I hadn't told or taught him. I was telling him to avoid clinging girls, be true to himself and he'll always be fine....lol I even had him sit with me to do his taxes....I guess it was the letting go phase. I was worried there were things I forgot to teach him. I didn't feel this way with my girls. Maybe it is the baby of the family thing. I like knowing what part of the RTC they are in makes me feel more a part of his days:) I know he is going to be an awesome man and can't wait to meet him!
I'm with you Very Prejudice also MY Son is Very Handsome in tux's so I can just imagine him in his dress uniform!!!!! Cant wait to see that... Counting down the days,hours,minutes..
Since it is finally Friday, just 5 more to go until we see our brand new sailors!!! The first one to get a letter from this group, please, please post it so the rest of us will know we have hope!!!
Mail just ran...no letter today. Again...really wasn't expecting one till next week, but was more than willing to be surprised.
I have been checking everyday myself, But I knew that wouldn't be one but was looking for that surprise also!LOL Hopefully next week... For all of us.. :)
