We continue to write our son. No note, letter from him yet accept for the one on the form letter.  Had one of our family friend dinner party last night for my husband birthday, we all miss him.  We were sitting around the outdoor fireplace talking and everyone had a story to tell of Tony.  I broke down and made a form for him to fill in the blanks so he wouldn't have to work so hard to write.  LOL will see if that approach works along with the stamped self addressed envelopes I sent him.

I cried last nite cuase I couldnt ask her about movie. I need to hear something!

Yeah I call his cell phone about everyother day to hear his voice, and poke him on Facebook.. Crazy I know but at least I hear his voice and see his face..... :)
His cell phone is here in draw off but, oh well, it works for me. And yes I cry all the time when I hear him..

I am so glad to hear from moms experiencing what I am experiencing.  I have great friends here, but they can't fully understand because they have never had a child go through this.

I video taped him the few days before he left playing the guitar and ukulele and singing... I'm glad I did.  He always was playing and singing to relax... the place is awfully quiet now. :(

No mail today either, but finally made myself go in his room and finish straightening it up and made the bed.  Just couldn't bring myself to do it before.  It was hard and didn't finish, but at least I got a start.  It has taken me the last 2 1/2 weeks since he left to just get through all the laundry.  He was notorious for putting both clean and dirty clothes on the floor then just smelling them to decide which was which and what to wear.  I think he has probably broken that habit by now!!  LOL  I rewashed EVERYTHING!!!

I also spent 18 years trying to teach him to hang up his towel after a shower.  I even putting only 2 towels in his bathroom so he couldn't just keep getting a new one each time and piling up the wet ones.  When I did that, he just starting picking it up off the floor and reusing it.  EWWWWW  I'll bet they broke him of that habit the first day!

Now I truly can't wait to meet the young man he will become after the Navy has him for 8 weeks of training.

I'm assuming that the honor of being in a 900 div has taken much extra time from our SRs. I see that other ships are getting calling and writing privileges.  With their extra activities, they are probably so busy that they don't have as much down time to miss us as much as we miss them.  At least I can hope, right? Although I don't know who I'm fooling!!!  I have a killer work schedule and raising a 14 year old still and I miss my SR every moment of the day. Maybe they will get some time to write this Sunday.   My 14 year old is adjusting better but really heartbroken over not being able to talk to his brother at all. They are so close. I reminded him that after basic, he can at least text him or call him or facetime him or skype him more often.  He had a mountain of homework and a band concert this week so his mind was a bit more occupied.  Just cant wait for someone to get word... hopefully they will have a few moments on Sunday. 5 Fridays... we can do this, ladies! :)

I also noticed that we were the last to get our form letters, so I think they must have been later getting to their ship.  That would put them a few days behind everybody else in the training schedule.  I've heard it is their second Sunday in the ship before they get and send mail.  I suspect tomorrow will be their second Sunday in the ship even though they will have been gone three Sundays.  If that is so, my mailman better be on time this Wednesday and Thursday!!!!

Nothing in mail today. They probably have been very busy, hopefully they will have time tomorrow to write. Looking so forward to hearing from him either by phone or mail.  I hope it will be more encouraging news.  I'm glad for this group, since we are all having the same feelings.
