Well, after graduation she'll be going to Pensicola for A-School. She's a machinist mate (?) not reallly sure what that entails other than she'll be on the ship working with the planes. You know, Pam I spent my entire life protecting this girl from harms way. Why in the world would she want to put herself right in front of it is beyond me but as a mother I have to support her decision. She's excited cause she found out she's getting paid extra cause it's considered (get this) a "hazardous job" I'm like OMG Cole... seriously?!?!? But you know, they have more courage than we ever will and for that I'm so proud.

I would love to do lunch but it would have to be that PIR date cause since I live in Chicago it's a bit of a drive for a lunch date and then have to go back again the next day. So if okay with you - I can txt you once I'm there or you can txt me and we can hook up that day once we've composed ourselves LOL! ;) Cause girl, I'm telling you, when I went to pick her up on christmas they had us in the lobby and they were letting them out five at a time and they had those retractable red ropes that the bank uses sometimes to keep the line.... girl I have not idea how I went through those ropes and hugged her like I never hugged her before and I just began crying like a baby... she was like... okay mom... okay - lol :)

Wow that is exciting for her. I know it I am thinking the same thing, actually thinking we must have given them a good start to want to reach so high. She feels safe and protected and equipped and wants to go out into the world and help others. Amazing. Chad will be on the medical side of the ship. He is a hospital Corpsman and will be in San Antonio TX for A school which makes me very happy, since we are just a couple of hours from there!!

I was wondering how it was at Adopt a sailor all of the pictures looked like really congested!! I know when I heard his voice on the phone I just cried and cried too!!

Hi Pam .....so my son is a HM also and will be going to San Antonio. IS your son in 034??

Corrine Rattray won us the Facebook trivia question for today!  On Thursday Recruit Training Command will have a photo of 07/034 doing a VERY SPECIAL activity.  Check out Facebook!  Hoo yah and thanks Corrine!!!
