Doesn't look like many are going to Sarges for the meet and greet. Hope to meet some of you there.
No letter this week :( Wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and thanks for all the words of encouragement from everyone. Hope we all get a call tomorrow. Thanks to the Adopt a Sailor program. Hope they all have a good day.
Catcat49 I'm going to try and make it to Sarges meet and greet:) I did get a letter today and my SR stated that they had a very busy week (gas chambers)! Merry Christmas and my Christmas wish is that we all get phone calls tomorrow!!
Hello Everyone,
I got into Chicago Midway about 2pm today. Picked up my rental and got to my hotel which is the Residence Inn Waukegan. Very good location. Just down the road from a shopping area with Walmart and a variety of restaurants. Went grocery shopping to make sure we have enough goodies for my SR since even Walmart will be closed tomorrow..lol
THe countdown begins to the big meeting in the morning. Not sure I will be able to sleep tonight.
FYI, I called Sarge today to find out how much he would charge to transport us from Midway to my hotel and he said it would have been 90.00 for a party of three just in case anyone needs to know for future, I left my drivers license at a supermarket just before I got to the airport so I was terrified that we wouldn't be able to get my rental but they allowed me to have my husband rent it even though it was my discounted rate so that worked out perfect.
I will keep posting as the day goes by tomorrow but I wish everyone a merry christmas.
jaydawn - we are also here, at the same hotel. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family.
Please call room 205 when you get back to the hotel.
Oh Jaydawn1, I'm sorry I didn't see this until now. We are staying at the same hotel for graduation. We'll get in the afternoon of January 5th and leaving first thing in the morning of January 7th. We are going to Sarge's Meet & Greet the evening of the 5th. Will we see you there? I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your SR. We certainly did. We kept asking him (and his buddy - the other recruit we adopted) if they wanted to take a nap, and they kept telling us, "If I get down, I won't get up." They were so funny. After looking into one of the bedrooms, my son said -- "WOW that's a bed. I forgot what one looked like." It was such a fun day! I hope you enjoyed yours as well. It was just nice to see him, touch him and hear his great sense of humor again. I'm looking forward to graduation.
Jaydawn, do you know where we go to pick up our SRs?
