roycecity, my last PIR group changed the name by adding "alum" to the name. I think we should do that so we can keep up after PIR.
I not only have my red ribbon, but I had my nails done for the holiday and they are red as well.

We're so excited to go to the PIR next week. Will any Navy4Moms be meeting during the weekend? Well HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

My son said something today that I NEVER thought he would ever say! He looked at me and said, "Mom, I need a hair cut" Before he left for the Navy, it had been six years since his last hair cut!
THANK YOU NAVY! Even though I do miss his hair. He is such a mature 18 year old young man.
When we see our recruits next week, the transformation will be well worth the wait!

It is so hard to believe that this time last year, I had two civilian sons and now I am preparing for my second PIR!
HAPPY NEW YEARS to all N4M friends and family!!!!!!!!

Cindy, you are right. I was a nervous wreck with my first son. He said that he had not yet passed the first two PFAs and was worried about the final one. I called his recruiter. He said that what he could see on his end was nothing. He said that they get notified as well as home when they fail something and are at risk of being held back.
Long story short: "No news is good news" I know we have all heard it, but from my past experience, they call home with bad news faster than good news.

It has taken some time to read all the posts I read, but I found it funny about the recruits drinking their canteens! I can just see all the recruits running to the head at the same time, but to pee, not throw up!!!!

Well, I had to take some time off to install my hot water heater..My son on leave helped. I don;t think he wanted too, but who else could left that thing! Not me, it's bigger than me!
I have a message to all the RDCs reading: Teach these recruits how to change a hot water heater!!!!!! He did say that if it catches fire, he knows how to put it out!! lol
Well, to all the moms and family here, as well as the RDCs:
HAPPY NEW YEAR! May 2010 bring all a new life with our new sailors!

I wonder if they will let them stay up to ring in the new year tonight?

Zachsmom, I understand. I do they same thing. I guess all we can do is wait. I'm hoping to get a call today or tomorrow since I didn't get one Christmas. If I do, I'll ask about BS and Capitan's Cup.
So, if we hear from our recruits, ask about BS. That way, we can some how make sense out of the confusion.

Navy Aunt, remember, we are talking about a branch of the US Military. Sometimes, the things they do DON"T have logical reasoning for civilians. I have stopped trying to keep track of what they are doing in GL. I will just stay here and follow the postings and keep my phone close at hand.
