Ok ladies, I just asked my sailor. He said tat someone has to be on watch 24/7. He confirmed that some are even on watch during the time others are making their "I'm a Sailor" call. I know it sucks, but hang in there! You WILL get the call! I have faith. (((((((HUG))))))

Terri, it is so common that recruits get sick during Basic. When my sailor had his PIR, he was sicker than I had ever heard him. Plus the Navy issued dress shoes rubbed a huge blister on his heel. I think all the hard work and lack of sleep compounds the fact that they have so many living in one small area. She will now have time to get some rest, or more than she had before BS.

I just asked my son. He said that even though there are a lot of phones, a lot don't work. So if you are waiting, keep in mind that four divisions went in last night. I know this sounds lame, but don't give up, your call will come in.

Adam's mom, it looks like they are calling in numerical order, so maybe he is still in line to call. I've seen the area where they call, and it is a small space for so many recruits/new sailors.

My sailor, home on leave, just ask how long can I stay on here. My 14 year old daughter told him: "ALL DAY! if we let her" lol

Rodwifey, I knew you would get your call! I guess the line was long with four divisions all wanting to call home at once! Now go do the "Happy Dance with your 6 year old! You both deserve it.

So, if Capitan's Cup was last weekend, who won?

Terri, that is such sad news. I will keep the recruit in my prayers as well as her family. That must be hard for all.

Ok, I just want to know: Who's hosting the BS party tonight, or will anyone go through tonight?
Comment by Margaret_ProudTexasMomof2Sailors on December 30, 2009 at 6:15pm
Dawn, I'm now confused, but that's OK, I live in the state of confusion! lol Was Capitan's Cup last weekend? It is usually the last weekend. If so, who won? I didn't hear anything in my last letter. Oh, well, to much good news coming through!
Oh how I wish 049 could go through BS sooner! I HATE the wait. I have a hot water heater to install, but can't drag myself away from here!
