I was off of N4M to spend Christmas with my sailor on leave. I feel out of the loop. I just read 11 DAY!!! I can't believe that we on on the last leg of our journey! We can start printing our passes!
I can hardly wait till Jan. 7 when I board my plane and then Friday! I still can't believe how fast the time has gone.

Sightndlady, I agree, but it still doesn't make it any easier. I remember last Christmas, I knew it would be the last time for a long time I would have all my kids together. I thought I had a long time! What a short year this has been. I did take advantage and took a lot of pictures last year. Now that I have one home this Christmas, I am still taking a lot of pictures. I just can't stop! lol

Rodwifey, I agree with Dawn. You can do it! I had never driven more than a 100 mike radious from my home until a few years ago. My kids wanted to visit my sister and her kids for New Year, so I drove from Dallas to Savoy, IL. I was proud of myself! Also, when I went to my other son's PIR I flew into Milwaukee, and I didn't know about all the toll booths. I did have some change. I was a total of two dollars.
Good luck to all on the communications today. I got my call yesterday, so maybe a letter today!

Richard just called! YEA! I didn't have a lot of time to talk to him, he called his GF first.
He did say that his division (049) has all the flags and that their final PFA is Jan. 4 and Battle Stations Jan. 6.
He also said that he has no idea if he will be able to call on Christmas. It all depends on the mood of their RDCs. He said that they are good, but oncce they get upset, it can be hard on the recruits.

Since it looks like Battle Staions will start next week, we need to post the divisions as we know the days of Battle Stations so we can all keep our blue candles going for the divisions and keep them in our prayers. Battle Stations starts at 8 PM after a full day of PTs and the final test and ends at 8 AM the next morning. They go in 2 divisions a night. Laurence could not talk about it since his brother has not yet gone through, so I don't know alot other than the two things to remember, the division has to work as a team and if they fall asleep, they fail.

Dawn, That was a good one!
I guess since today is Monday, letter won't be here today if they can only mail them on Sunday.

Well, my next two weeks will go by faster than I want. My sailor came home. I guess one home for the holidays is better than none. With him home, it takes away some of the sadness of not having my recruit home. We have been making fun of the fact that Richard is up in GL shoveling snow, while we are here enjoying the good Texas weather! He said that it is ********* COLD in GL! He goes back the week before PIR, so if there are any questions about BC, I can ask him.

Dad's Dad, I saw that, and I cried! How proud his mom must be!
Here is the link if anyone else wants to see it. Be warned, have a box of tissue on hand!

Alex's mom, I'm glad I could help.
One last thought, if this will be your first PIR, go to YouTube and search Navy PIR. There are a lot! Look for the ones that have Liberty Call in the title. They will make you cry knowing that in less than three weeks, that will be us down there hugging our babies!

Dan's Dad, that one is too funny! I told my son the corpsman joke. He laughed! Now I need to tell the bus one.
for all of you with recruits going to corpsman A school, I went to youtube today and found many videos about FMTB and one tribute to the corpsman brought the water works! I knew what they do, but it is now in a different light.
Alex's mom, I like the name of your tree. I have a picture of my two boys from my younger one's first Christmas. I want to get them in the same pose, as best I can with both of them in uniform! It might be hard since the younger one is 6'3' and my recruit is 5'10". lol

Dan's dad, that's a good one! My son is in corpsman A school, I'm going to have to share that one with him!
