Donna, I like your Blue Candles! I need to light mine. I have my blue star banner in my front window!
No snow in Dallas either!

Adam's Mom, Thanks! That can in a round about way ne a navy joke! They are learning to tie knots.
I bought a singing card, but my other son in the Navy said not to send it! The RDCs hate them! I said, but it's a Christmas card! He said that they don't care. I guess I will save it and give it to him with his gifts. (sad sigh) I'll just send just plain cards.
I had to share the joke from here about the word MARINE. He laughed!

Alex's Mom, I like the red ribbon idea. I always have my navy mom hat on the hadle of my camera(backpack) bag!
I got a letter Friday. It was a long one. He said that his division had to go back to processing, and while there, he took a bilingual test. He said he passed! I guess the ten weeks he spent in Brazil paid off! The Navy says he his fluent enough in Portuguese to be bilingual! He said that all is going well and that he passed his second PFA and that his division got another flag. he failed to mention which one.
Eight more days and we can start to print out our passes for PIR!

I didn't get a letter today! :-( I can't figure out which days are mine. One week it's a Tues, the next a Friday. I'm just hoping for one tomorrow. I almost called him today. His brother got his orders for after A schooltoday, and I wanted to tell him. He will go FMTB, and then off to New Orleans! (FMTB= Field Medicial Training Battalion) I guess it will make a good letter.
I am so glad to hear that the recruits are doing well. I just wish I get a letter tomorrow!

Well, I am now ready! I have my plane tickets, my hotel reservation and my rental car lined up. Now I only have to wait and hope Richard does his part! lol
No letter today. :-( I was hoping for soemthing, anything. I hate not hearing!
MaryK, I carry my phone with me at all times. Everyone at school knows that I will stop what I am doing if I get a call from 847! I did that with my other son! I was in a staff development training when I got my call. I just got up and left the room. It was a bitter sweet call. He called from a phone that didn't work! He could hear me, but I couldn't hear him. I was so depressed, I didn't want to go back. So far this time, my one call was on a Sat.

I think I have waited to late. The Navy Lodge is booked for the weekend! Now I have to find another hotel.
Thanks for the jokes. The make the time go by much better.
Dawn, I think you are right. I noticed last time, as we get closer to PIR and our letters get more up beat, so do we.
My other son comes home this Friday! YEA!!! He said that it is ***** COLD! and that it is supose to snow this Sat.

My internet was down for a day, but I did love going back and reading all the jokes. Keep them coming!
Dan's Dad, I am very thick skined, so I do not get offended easily. Besides, I do have two boys who have learned quickly how to "talk like a sailor"!!!!

I am hearing so much from my other son as to how cold it is! he said he had to shovel snow, and even with gloves, his hands were freezing! All I can say is LAYERS! I might have to take several outfits to wear at once! It was 65 and sunny here today! I do know that they keep our recruites warm! The Pee Coats are warm from what I hear.
