MaryK, The week starts when the division finishes the processing days, so each division will be on different days. The later divisions are what are called, "Push" divisions. They all graduate on the same day, but are not in Basic as long as the ones before them. In other words, the later the number, the fewer days or even a week less than the first few divisions that filled first. Does thgis make sense? It was explained to me more than once.

Mrs. recruit, Thanks for the BS info! From what I remember from the last time, they go in two divisions a night. It's hard to beleive that we are almost to BS! As soon as we get days and divisions, we need to post them and keep a blue candle going for them.

Thanks Alex's mom!
roysecitytxmom, I love your jokes. For a while, I thought you were talking about my son! lol Then I reaized that I have not received a letter from his RDC! The fear of mom sometimes helps! Keep the jokes coming. We need some humor! Or at least I do!

Kelli, my son is in A school at GL now. He had to reach a certian phase before he could leave base. His A school is 14 weeks, so I don't know about the other A schools. His PIR was in Oct. and he just reached the phase that he can leave for the day, but not overnight. See if there is a group fpr your son's A school and ask there. After the holidays, my son will be close to the phase where he can leave for the weekends. He is looking forward to that so he can go to Savoy to spend the weekend with his cousin.
Donna, if your recruit was on watch during the time the division gets to call, they will miss it. It is so hard. I have missed the round more than once! I understand how you feel. I read about calls coming in, but my phone never rings. The hardest part of BC is "No News is Good News" I understand that someone has to be on watch 24/7, but it doesn't make you feel any better when your recruit is the one on watch when the division gets that rare phone call!
I did say to heck with it, and bought not one, but two cards that sing Christmas songs. I'll write on the cards, "Do Not Open Until Christmas" Maybe it will help.
I'm taking all of his Christams presents to PIR. Who says that Christmas day has to be Dec. 25?
Is it Jan. 8 yet?

OK, I just had a long talk with my son. We planed our weekend together in GL. He has been there long enough to know some fun things to do. One is the Sear's Tower. Service men and women get in free, so I can save myself at leats two tickets!
He also confirmed about E1 Seaman Recruit, E2 Seaman Apprentice and E3 Seaman. I also asked why he finished his DEP book, but was still an E1. He said that once you get to BC, you have to pass a test as well as finish your DEP book. He said that only a percentage can be promated, and he didn't fill like passing the tests until they counted toward BC. So, he is an E1 until he gets to a certian point and then he can become an E2. He's not sure as to what time he can be promoted. He says that as long as he gets the training and is stationed where he wants, he doesn't care about his rank.
roysecitytxmom, keepthe jokes coming! I love reading them!
Is it Jan. yet?

I am at a total loss as to the E ranks. My younger so went in as an E1 and is still an E1 He is still a SR. I know he finished his DEP book, so I don't know why he is still an E!. My older son was in ROTC and hld office, so he is an E3. I guess this a good excuse to call and find out. I love the fact that once they leave BC, I can call!
I was watching his PIR DVD tonight, and I am SOOOOO ready to go and see it all over again. The best part is at about 10:35, when you hear the words: "Now hear this, Now hear this LIBERTY CALL, LIBERTY CALL!" Then it is every man (or mom) for himself to the floor to hug their new sailors!

The rank is teh same as when they PIR. My younger son had his PIR in Oct. and is still an E1. My older son in BC now is an E3. I have no idea when they rank up after BC.

I got a letter today! YEA! It was written before I talked to him last week, so nothing was new. He did mention that several guys were let go. Mainly because of prior trouble with the law, one russian didn't get his citizenship approved. He sounds very upbeat and happy. He did mention several friends that he has made and that the chief has a good history winning the "Captian's Cup"
If your recruit is in 049, send me a message, maybe our recruits are friends!

The mailman is NOT my friend today! My mail box was empty when I got home. Not even junk mail! WHERE IS MY LETTER? Don't our recruits know that we need to hear from them at least once a week? Oh well, tomorrow is another day!
Did anyone else hear from a recruit this week?

Proudmomofmyseabee, Congrats! I know that at the PIR, they mention the divisions with all or most of the flags! It is an honor for the divisions to get the most flags!
It's hard to beleive that we are getting so close!
Has anyone heard how well our recruits are holding up for "Hell Week" That should be this week.
Live Fire should also be this week. If the recruit gets 200 or higher, they get the Marksmanship ribbon.
