Alex's Mom, That was funny! The sad thing is that it is so true! I have to have some other force to get me out of here also! Usually someone reminding me that they are hungry! (As if I am the only one hwo can prepare something! lol)

Dawn, if contactung the phone angel works, add me to the list. I would love for Richard to call his mom! I heard other mom's inDivision 049 got cals last night. My phone did ring, but not from my favorite recruit! :-(
Sighthndlady, like you, my son is older. He is 20, and spent 10 weeks in Brazil this past summer. He couldn't call, but he did email me. I still want to talk to him. I guess it's the mom in me.

Love my Sailor, I am sorry to hear about your fiance. I received a letter from my son today also. He said that he should be able to call home soon, but didn't say anything about one person getting the division in troubke. He didi mention that the chief said that "049 can never have anything nice because they never can get their act together." I know that the whole focus of BC is to instill team work. Battle Stations depends on it.

I'm happy for all the calls and letters received today. I got a letter yesterday, but I stll was hoping for another one today! Has anyone received calls from 049? I have been carrrying my phone with me 24/7, but so far nothing. hearing his voice about now would be nice! I have sooo many questions!
I can't believe we are almost half way there!

Oh, I forgot who asked, but it is correct, only four guest per recruit, and only the recruit can add or delete a name. I have heard of recruits who do not need all four will share if they know of someone. You will have to know the name and division number of that recruit who puts you on their list.

Well, no call today, but I did get a long letter. He sounds so much better. He sounds more relaxed. He didn't say if he is sick, but he did tell me that his friend who went in with him from his recruiting office is his bunk mate. He said that things are going good, and that he should start shooting soon. I can't remember if they do that week four or five. His letter was dated before Thanksgiving, so I don;t know it went for him.
I did look on the weather for GL, and it looks like rain mixed with snow. I know my son will be excited. We don;t get a lot of snow in Texas.
Congrats on all the phone calls! My day for 049 to call will come one day!
Have a wonderful evening ladies.

FYI- Today is payday for our Recruits. I think this is their first, depending on when they processed. They get payed on the first and fiftenth. If you where depending on the funds, don't expect alot. They have to pay for all of their uniforms! (about $900.00)

Thanks MaryK. I knew SIQ was sick bay, but didn't know the exact words. As for recruits being sick, it's called "Recruit Crud" They all seem to get sick. The good news is that the gas chamber seems to clear it up! That is theweek of or before Battle Stations. I forget. (Good excuse to talk to my other son! lol)
Congrats on all the calls! Lets hope we all get one soon!

roycecitytxmom, I heard it from another mom in my other son's PIR group. My younger son just had is PIR in Oct., so all this is still fresh in my mind. It is well worth it. I could share the pictures withhis Dad and have enough wallets to share with all my family!

Sherry, do you still have her contract? From what I have heard, they are suppose to get the job they signed up for. Are you able to call the recruiter? If so, I would call and see what the deal is. When my younger son went in, he would only go in as a corpsman. He said if they could not give him the job, he would not enlist in the Navy and would enlist in the Marine's. He was then told that he was signing a contract and that the Navy had to adhear to it.
