I talked to my son who is in GL for A school, and he said it might snow tonight. So if your recruit is like my son, from the south, it will be a change. I've only seen snow once before Jan. and when it does snow here, it is gone the next day.
I hope the RDCs give our recruits the chance to call home!

I think if I don't get a letter on Friday, I'm going to write and threaten to send cookies and letters with goofy songs! I just can't stand not hearing from him! At least when he was in Brazil, I got emails! lol I know it's true, but still hard, "No News is Good News"
COngrats on those of you who did receive letters! Here's hoping for phone calls tomorrow.
I did hear that tomorrow will be "Holiday Schedule" which means 6 hours to hang out without the RDCs in there face. They can also go to church if there are services tomorrow.

MaryKelly, from past experiance, I think during week three, anyone who needs wisdom teeth out, this is the week it happens. I don't know if they get to write more, or even make calls home. My son has at least one wisdom tooth, but I don't know yet if he had to have it removed.

Thanks for the hugs. I needed one! I just miss him so much! I feel like I should be a pro, but this time is just as hard. I can pick up my phone and call my son in A school, and I find myself wanting to do the same for Richard, but then I realize I can't.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! God Bless our Troops and our Recruits in bootcamp and all others not able to come home!

Adamsmom, my younger son was Laundry PO for his division. He said that some of the skevies would keep him up at night! I was too afraid to ask what he meant by that! I thought it was funny since he didn't do a lot of laundry at home.

I'm so sad. No letter. Now I have to wait until Friday, since there is no mail tomorrow!

Adamsmom, I have heard teh same thing. My younger son said the RDCs will eat anything that is sent. So unless you don't want to feed the RDCs, save all food for the PIR.
I am going crazy. No letter. I'm hoping that Wednesdays are my days. They were last time, so maybe today. This Thanksgiving will be so weird with only one child instead of three.

I just read this on anther group here on navy4moms. I did it, and it is a wonderful way to remember those away for the holidays.

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING NICE!

If you go to this web site,www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the Armed Services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.

This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We can never say enough thank you's.

Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

I have heard that Thanksgiving and Christmas, they will "Holiday" schedule. That is they will have 6 hours of time to themselves. No PTs or classes during that time.
I have not received a letter from my son in bootcamp, but my other son explained "Holiday" schedule. It sounds the same as the schedule they have on Sundays.

Sherry, that's funny about the BCGs! My son had them when he was in, and my son now has them. They are true to their name! Don't worry, when they get their picture taken, they don't have to wear them! I have also heard them called BUGs (Butt Ugly Glasses)
Good luck on stalking your letter carrier. Last time, my day was on Wed., but I'm starting today! I'm off this week, so I have nothing better to do. lol
