Grasshopper, I was able to get a picture of the performing band, which was in their 6th week. I posted them on my page. Look and see if oe see your recruit. I remember someone asking to take a picture, so I tried to get a good one. I hope i was able to get a picture of your son.

I'm glad to hear that HCC is helping out other moms going through the stress of BS. Two is my limit!!! lol Now for the A school thing. I think my boys are excited about being together until the end of Feb. Different A schools, but same base!
If you haven't already, check out groups for your sailors A school. I know the corpsmen moms have a good one, but I have only found one for culinary moms.

Good Evening Ladies! Congratulations to each and every one of you on the graduation of your new Sailor!! I have a son in Divison 909 that will be graduating on 1/22/10 and I'm sure you all can relate to the excitedness that all the Mom's in our Group are feeling. I'm writing because the Mom's from Division 909 are particularly interested in your PIR. It was the first performance for our guys!! We are anxiously awaiting for you guys to post pics to try and catch a glimpse of our guys! Several of the guys are "Body Snatchers" and my son is the "Time Orderly" that rings the bell. If you post pictures of the ceremony if you could let me know, I would be so appreciative so that I can pass it along to the others in our Group. Thank you in advance and again congratulations!! Best wishes to your sons and daughters with their futures!!

I love all the new profile pictures!
I'm glad everyone has made it home safe.
I had a minor break down over the weekend. I was so excited about seeing my boys, and then on the plane home, it hit me! They're not coming home! They're gone! They now belong to the US Navy. They will be home for leave, but not to live. I guess this is the "Empty Nest" that I have heard about all my life. MaryK, I think the name change was a wise one!

Charlette, Congratulations on the win!
Next week will be one of the best weekends! Take advantage of every moment!

MaryK, I love our new name! We did survive! Now on to A school and then their first assignments!
I am looking forward to seeing the new profile pictures. I took my picture out and added my two favorite sailors! They are lucky in that they will be on Main Side at GL together for the next six weeks!

Adamsmom, I understand 100%! So many people don't get it. When a child goes off to college, they can come home for holidays and weekends. When they enlist in the military, who knows when we will see them again. I said good-bye to two sailors tonight. I have no idea when I will see them again. I just sat and cried when I got back to the hotel. I think that is why I spend my time here. Ya'll understand. I can come here and cry, and no one will think I'm crazy.

Judy, I know the time is short, but enjoy what time you do have with him.
I'm still enjoying the fact that I have a sailor asleep in my room right now. He is in A school here, and was able to get permission to stay with me off base.

I was able to get a good picture of both my sailors in their dress blues. As soon as I upload it, I think it will be my new profile picture!

Oh, what a fun day I had. I'm sad that I have to take one sailor back to base. :-(
My other sailor has permission to stay the night with me!
From looking around today, it looks like all the new sailors were happy to be with family after PIR!
GO NAVY!!
