Sarge has a meet and greet for the families the night before PIR. He does this for every PIR and it's at his own expense. We are hoping to make baskets up and bring them that night to raffle off. This way it will help offset the money he has to put out. We were thinking of state themed baskets, ie: NJ, California etc. but what ever basket you would like to put together would be wonderful.(kitchen, bath items, coffee etc.) When you know what kind of basket you will do we can post it here and then this way keep track of what we have. I'm new to this so I hope I'm posting this the right way.

That sounds great! Just want to have my $$$ ready :-)

I will definitely be doing one Florida themed! Going to go shopping now. lol. Gives me a great excuse to get out of the house and go shopping! Great idea!

Depending on how many baskets needed, I'm driving up and can haul some with me. Let me know if needed and about how big you need via PM.

Hi Ladies, I'm bringing a Maryland Tote...Loved the idea of tote over basket.

I will put together a Washington themed basket (tote).

I will try to come up with an adirondack theme. I will need a basket, as we will be flying in.

I am also doing a tote versus a basket.  I was doing a California theme and was thinking of adding some wine.  My husband seems to think that food items wouldn't be good.  Any thoughts on this?  I mean, California has great wines, but I don't want to violate any rules or anything by having alcohol brought into the restaurant.  Any input would be appreciated.

I spoke with Sarge and he said that we could put anything in the baskets, wine, food etc. so that would be great to have some nice California wine.

i am from CA also is there anything i can contribute to your basket??  I am from Lodi so we have Wine everywhere!!   maybe some wine chocolates or some stoppers a bottle or 2 of wine, some wine glasses?  Let me know I would love to help!!

California5 -- HI!  If you would like to do add wine to my tote, that would be awesome.  At first I misread your comment and thought you wanted to do a separate basket, but I like the idea of combining.  If you want to bring some things from wine country, and I'll add more beach type things, that will make a lovely tote.  Thanks so much.  Just remember I may not get to meet and greet until about 6:00 or so, depending on the flights and weather.

I sent you a friend request so we could private message, California5. Got some really cute stuff yesterday for the tote!  (I also have the actual tote, so you know)

Good afternoon! Spent the morning taking down the Christmas decos, another year gone, roll on Jan 10th! Regarding the gift / auction items, I do a little beading, so I have made 2 beaded bookmarkers, a set of angel earrings with a necklace to match and a pair of just earrings. We are also from California so thought this the easiest to travel with. Once we know the cost of the tickets, I will pair up the items. Hope this is suitable since most others are doing theme totes.

.i just wanted to make sure that someone is bringing actual raffle tickets themselves. ( the things I think about at 3:00 a.m.)

Also I am bringing the California totes but we do not land until 4:00 at Midway so it will be very tight getting there on time. Hopefully we can do the drawings late in the evening.
