Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 909
Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Lisa, I think I know why the change in your son's demeanor . . I got a letter from my son and it seems the division got in some trouble. My son seemed upset with the antics of a few, and they were threatened with being delay in graduation. It is all worked out I think, but I'll bet that's why some of the tone of letters/calls changed. All in all, however, my SR seems to be doing well and is very happy. I hope all of you got letters today, too!
My son is in Ship002Div909. I'm trying to figure something out and hope any of you can help. We got our son's first letter last week. It was written on 11/27, mailed on Mon 12/2 and we got it Friday 12/6. He asked us to write him every day as our letters were like gold to him. We have probably sent him at least 6-7 letters, but have had nothing back yet. If he writes on Sunday, mails on Monday shouldn't we get something this week? Has anyone gotten second letters. Also no phone calls either. Does RTC hold incoming letters to recruits? I realize they can hold outgoing letters and/or contact. Its like he dropped off the face of the earth. Now I hear about General Quarters and the blackout. We have not heard back from him about putting our names on the list for PIR and would hate to go all that way and not be able to get in!! Just trying to figure it all out. Thanks
SC Mom, my SR is in Ship 02, Div. 909. He called this past Sunday and again on Tuesday. I received letters he'd written on 12/6 yesterday. It was the second time I'd received mail from him, not including the PIR form letter. I'm in Southern California. I understand that the mail goes out on Mondays from GL. Is there any chance your SR would call someone else (girlfriend or something) or mail letters elsewhere?
My SR did mention that the Division had gotten into trouble this past weekend and they were threatened with being held back but got the OK on Monday.
I'm not sure what you mean by General Quarters and a blackout. What is that about?
Just remember that they get to update their PIR guest lists about a week before PIR, so all should make sure to write them now with names to be on the list. Once they do the final update, they cannot add to them or change them before PIR.
