Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 055 and 056

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Can Anybody Tell Me Why I Have Not received Anything????

'Anything' meaning what exactly? I would love to try to help but not sure where to begin. Have you received the scripted 'I'm here' call? The form letter of PIR & address?

Good Morning Everyone!  My son is in DIV 055. He arrived on the 12th, I got the "I'm here" phone call and that was the last time we've spoke. Hoping today will be the day. But I did get a letter with the Adopt a Sailor paperwork. It couldn't of come at a better time,( my moms in the hospital and the past few days have been extremely difficult.)  Is anyone else going up for Xmas?   Phone calls for all today! :)

Hi Alice... may I ask... when did you receive the Adopt a Sailor Christmas letter? I didn't receive one and my son is Div 056. Has anyone else received this? I visited my other son (twin) on Thanksgiving through the same program and it was definitely worth the trip. For Thanksgiving, only divisions with a 12/6/13 PIR were included.

Prayers for you, your mom & your family. We're not going to make it for Christmas, too far to make the trip twice in 2 weeks. I'm glad you have the opportunity. Will be wonderful I'm sure!

Super Cute Bunny Waving

OMG that is just too cute! How'd u do that?

I get most of my stuff from different sites, this one comes from sherv .net.  You post the HTML code as a link, and the "link" is at the top of the posting box.

Thanks :) Although first I think I should figure out how to put a picture in my profile LOL

Hi Everyone. Hope everyone got calls today. None yet for me :(  Mari Mom my son's in DIV 055 and the adopt a Sailor form came in Fridays mail. To be honest I have no idea how they decided who gets to send one home. I'm not on the computer a lot due to my mom being in the hospital but I think I've seen maybe 3-4 others who have received the form. When you went for Thanksgiving were there a lot of places open and things to do? I'm having a hard time finding things open on Xmas day. I'm going to try calling the Chamber of Commerce in the morning. I guess they could stay at the hotel, and just relax, watch tv and stuff. I do want to find out if Skype is allowed. I just thought that would be so awesome for my son and the friend he picks to be able to Skype their family and friends. If you or anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

Hi Moms....it's almost 8pm CST and I have not received a call since Nov 23rd.  My son is DIV 55, I saw one mom got a 5 min call for good inspection.

Has any other moms received calls?

I am also going up on Christmas for Adopt a Sailor to visit my son and enjoy the day getting to know his new sailor friend.

I will start looking tomorrow for things to do in Chicago on Christmas day....if anyone figures out what they are going to do , let me know.

Hoping for a call soon....,.,today has def been a lonley teary day for me.....missing him so much!

Deb  My son is also in Div 55 and I did not receive a call today.  Last call for me was last Saturday.  I have not gotten any hand written letters yet just form letters,
