Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 055 and 056
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Thanks for the update Mom2Bella....I am guessing you will get a handwritten letter quite soon.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for a call soon, I know when I talked to my son last week he mentioned that he thought he might be able to call more than he thought....I like hearing that but then I don't want them to feel more homesick either.......I am counting the days until I see him on Christmas!
I am glad you get to go there for Christmas. Unfortunately we are 13 hours away and I am actually scheduled to work on Christmas this year.
SandraG, I Have Not Received Anything But the box and the first phone call My Son Left On Nov12 on Ship 11 56 I'm Heart broken and need to hear his voice!!!!!! No Letters Not even Adopt A sailor Can Anybody Tell Me Why???????
I know that they only get to write letters on Sundays for now since it's all they have time for. They were not able to write the first Sunday they were there because they were still processing. They had time the Sunday before Thanksgiving & we got our first letter Friday. He said every call they get to make must be earned by passing an inspection, doing well on an exam, passing PT, doing their 'side job' well. Plus they only get the chance to call if they're not already doing an assigned task like watch duty or mail room, etc. Maybe he has just been so busy learning to be a good sailor he hasn't had a chance. I'm hopeful for calls this coming weekend for our division since it will be the end of 3 weeks of training for them. Remember the motto 'no news is good news'. I know it doesn't replace the sound of his voice or his written words on paper but at the very least you know he is not sick, not hurt & he's still there. Keep your chin up, he'll need you strong when he does make contact. Prayers & hugs for you...

Thanks Just Needed To Hear Something Have A Wonderful Day And Talk Soon!!!
Feeling a little down, no phone call. Was so hopeful. Haven't heard from him since the 13th. Maybe this coming weekend. Just so strange not being able to talk with him whenever I want. I have to tell myself that he is doing well and am so very proud of him for what he is doing. Hope everyone has a good week.
