Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 053 and 054
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Good morning!!! We didn't get a call this week :( . He said when he called on the 6th he did not think we would talk again til Christmas. One could only hope though right? We did get a letter on Thursday and he continues to sound better with every letter. I am super excited to see him or Christmas! I was trying to think of ideas to take a little Christmas from home to him. So I am going to pack a few of the baked goods we make and fill his stocking with toiletries. (He said when we talked on the 6th he didn't care what he did he but he wanted a nice long hot shower with his normal toiletries and to be able to face time with his dad, brother, and sister) I am also seeing that there is not much open in the way of restaurants so I am trying to.think.of something creative to get at the grocery store to.make for us that won't require any heat! I have been reading that other SR are telling their families that are going for Christmas they want a good nap so I figure we can hang out in the hotel room snack, watch movies, he can get his nice long shower, and a little rest.
How is everyone? Hanging in there? Only 26 more days til P.I.R.!! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!!
The last I've heard from my son was his call on Dec 6. No letter last week either. I wonder if they're in their week 4, which from what I've read has been called "hell week". I just keep praying for his strength. I know when I spoke with him he said everyone's favorite time is mail call, so I just keep sending letters! 25 days and counting til PIR. Hoping for a Christmas call from him.
Hi wrc999 that last time I talked to my daughter was dec 6 also. And I havent gotten any letters lately either. I hope everything is ok with her. I hear a lot of them got sick so I am hoping shes ok. Hope to get a letter soon or something.
Hang in there. I"m sure she s fine. I got a letter last Thursday and she said they were going to be very busy and she wouldn't be able to call. I'm sure they are reading each others letters and sharing photos. Just keep writing her. Keep your spirits up.
Made my reservations, Going to see her for Christmas, We have received one letter from her and only the first call saying she was there... I know she is busy... She is on ship staff and laundry duty...I can't wait. If anyone else is going message me.
We received 3 letter yesterday!!! His letter last week was so short so i was a little concerned. Then yesterday we get 3 long letters!! He sounded so good!! He is so excited about the relationships he is building! He said they did Marline Spike training and it was a good lesson in team building. They struggled a little bit but said they are all more determined than ever to work harder on being a team!! He said their Chief doesn't really freak out like the other RDC's do, he tries talking to them first but if that doesn't work his words are " we get killed and brought back to life multiple times until he is finished" He says luckily that has only happened once. He also says their Chief is very understanding of the SR's and the holildays and how it affects them. He is very encouraging and in tune to his divisions and making sure they have everything they need to be successful. He says that this week is "Hell Week" and they will all be very busy but after this they are over the hump!He says that they are all still a little home sick but are learing to depend on eachother.
I am so excited to see him next week!! He thanked his Dad, Brother and Sister for letting me come and see him for Christmas because he knows how hard it is that we will all be seperated. I am missing him something terrible. Not talking to him since the 6th is not my friend!! LOL!! But I am super thankful for the letters and so glad he sounds so good in his letters. Only 3 more weeks til we are all 5 together again!! We have a written countdown going on in all of our letters as I am sure the rest of you do too!!
Thanks for listening to my ramblings!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!
so that means hell week is the one we just went through correct ? since they write on sundays (: I haven't received any letters since last Friday but I feel like everyone sharing theirs helps sooo much!
Yes Ma'am. They should be through the hard part as of today according to my letters!!!
Thanks for the update California5, my son is also ship 14 Div 54, so it's nice to hear some details. I did receive a short letter from him Thursday, he didn't share a lot of details about what was going on. I've been wondering about "hell week" and knew it had to be close, so I'm hoping they all did well. I miss him so much as well, and can't go for Christmas, but hopefully we'll atleast get a call.. (I have a countdown also :) ) Enjoy seeing your SR next week!!
Yes, most of the divisions should be finished with Hell Week (training week 4) now. That week isn't quite as bad as the name sounds! Just tiring and busy! They are gearing up for final tests now, culminating with BattleStations. This PIR group should start BattleStations most likely either Jan 1st or Jan 2nd. Not sure they will start on New Years day (12 hr overnight drill) so most likely it will be on Thurs night, the 2nd. I'm pretty sure that your divisions will go then, but it could be the beginning of PIR week. If anyone has received a BattleStations date for these divisions, please friend request/message it to me since I'm keeping a schedule. We can't post them here or on the main PIR page, or on FB---RTC rule. Thanks!
