Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 910.

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi 910 Moms!

Hope you're all doing well after these stressful first weeks. This website has been a treasure - so much good info and so comforting with many moms having the same feelings. No one can quite understand this process unless they've gone through it. The lack of communication is difficult, particularly since we're all used to our SR's being one quick cell phone call away.

Just wondering whether any of you have received a letter yet? I've been checking the mailbox several times a day like it's my job, but nothing yet :( !

Also, do any of you know what your SR's are doing in 910? My son has zero musical experience, so I'm curious as to what position he was assigned.

@TammyV - Love the idea of a questionnaire! Think I'll go put one together and send today.

@tybaby90 - Saw this morning that you're still waiting for that first letter too. Hope we  both get one soon!

Hi 910 Moms,

Our son is in 910 as well and we have yet to receive any mail other than the form letter from him.  I have also stalked the mailman, but hasn't worked so far.  Other moms that I have connected with whose sons left from our gepgraphical area at the same time, but are in different divisions have received several letters over the last week so I am getting a bit anxious.  We are also interested in understanding about the 910 division and its responsibilities.  From what little I understand at this point it can also be honor guard and drill teams in addition to the musical aspect.  I try to take one day at a time, but I have to say that I was really down yesterday after the mail arrived with no letter.  My husband keeps telling me that this division has more responsibilities so they probably have less time to write...

Would love to know when anyone else gets a letter from someone in 910.

Thanks for the support and for listening - I feel better that I am not alone  :)

Have a good rest of the weekend.

Karen

Nothing in the mail today :(

Hey all!

I am not a mom, but I can relate on what you are going through with the same emotional rollercoaster! My fiance is in 910! This is has been a rough first couple of weeks, but I am hoping the anxiety of him being gone is starting to sink in. The lack of communication does stink because I was living with my fiance who is my best friend; therefore, it is hard to not have that person with you! I am proud off all of these young men and women and thank each of you for being supportive and apart of this journey! I have not gotten my first letter either I have a feeling it will be a little longer. We have a friend who graduated from basic about a month ago who is now in A school in Great Lakes. He also was in a 900 divsion; therefore, I know a little as to what to expect. He says he didn't get his second phone call until week 4. He also did not get to send his letters out until the end of week 2. Being in a 900 divsion he says requires more work, but is worth it. I hope this little advice helps. I am not sure as to what they are doing in the 910 divsion because my fiance too does not play an instrument or sing. Whatever it is I am sure we will find out soon! I will be praying for each of you to have peace!

God Bless!

Hello 910 loved ones!

This is my first post on this site, although, I have been reading as much as I can since my BF left November 20th.

I am also waiting for my first letter, but has anyone else received a phone call? I received a six minute one on on Sunday Dec. 2nd, which was a huge relief because his short "I've arrived and am ok" call never came. I asked him about that and apparently an SR acted up and his whole group lost phone privileges because of it.

I am dying to get that first letter!

Hello Ship 02 Division 910. My son left November 20th from Cleveland. I will be at graduation Jan. 18th. I am driving to Chicago and praying the roads will be good. I have not had any contact with my son yet. I also am checking the mailbox and taking my phone every place I go. I wish you all luck and hope we hear from our sailors soon.

Hi Vicky. I live in Cleveland and will be at the same PIR! Our SRs are in the same division, too.

I don't know when they'll finally be able to send mail, but at least it won't have to travel far to reach us.
*obviously they're in the same division. I forgot which group this was in!

Hi!

Yes I am praying that we all see some letters this week and a phone call would be such a nice surprise this weekend. Continue to pray for you as these next few weeks come and all peace will be with you! Nice to meet you how long have you guys been together? Where is he going to A school for and at?

Oh thank you! Wow you have been together for a while now. Okay that is neat! We have been together for a little over a year. We have been friends now for 5 years. It has been a long time coming :) He will be in P-Cola Florida for A school. I am not sure what his rate will be because he did not specifcally chose one going in. He is doing the airman program. It has its pros and cons. Are you going to be attending graduation? Have you heard anything from him so far, letter or phone call?

Hi All! Just back from the mailbox and still nothing. :( I read that this is really just the beginning of week 3 for them since 1st week was processing. It also said they won't get to write until after week 3 and call after week 4. Sooo I don't really need to stalk the mailman daily (but I do). I'm upset because we will be out of the country for the week of Xmas and I just know that's when the first letter or call will come and we won't be here to get it. Didn't realize that when we made these travel plans. Ugh!

Wah 22 - Cute picture of you and your SR! My son is also doing A school in San Antonio for Hospital Corpsman, so hopefully they've made a connection. What is your SR's name and I will write my son to look out for him. Mine's name is Connor (but first name is Eric-so the Navy may be calling him that)!

I think we can all understand the "stalking" the mailman.  And I keep sending those letters, pleading for a return letter knowing full well he will write as soon as he is able.  But this waiting for a letter/call is worse than waiting to deliver that kid.  :-)
