Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 065 and 066.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Lzbrg22, Welcome! This website has a wealth of info! This is my 2nd time around as a Navy Mom any questions --ask away! Graduation is an emotional experience-bring kleenex!
@ Leisure-Ley: I know its a little to soon, but what is graduation like, like are we able to run down to them after it is over and where do we go from there? Because i thought i read they had to go gather their things afterwards, My SR will be attending A school in PCola if that helps answer my question(:
Thank you!
@Brit, PIR is an amazing performance, you can video tape/take pics the entire time. You can also order the dvd of the ceremony for $27. I cant stress how important it is to arrive very eary and get in line. You must have picture id for guests, not for little ones. Its bleacher seating and you sit in the area marked for your SR's division. I sat in the upper level and was happy i did. Bring snack food/water (breakfast bars-etc-easy snacks) because your there early and will be waiting. (early is essential for good seats). They will have 2 small booths selling souvenier items/water. Its starts off with marching band and color guard shows. then the garage door opens and in marches the Sailors (this is when I started crying) they do marching drills that will blow your mind. short speeches from Naval commanders, then it ends and everyone runs to their Sailors !!!!!!!! If they are NOT staying at GL for A they are yours till their curfew. After PIR visit the NEX short walk on base with your SR great store for Navy attire ETC... OMG ! I cant wait !!!!!!
Thank you so much! Made me cry just reading it, because I'm getting so EXCITED!! So after PIR is over we can take them for the day? They don't have to go back to their ships for anything? And we will definitely be stopping the the NEX i need some Navy things to support my fiance(:
Thank you, Im reading as much as I can. I know nothing of the Navy since we weren't a Military family, but now we are so I'm 100 percent in. lol. I think I have an idea of what to do and my girlfriend (although she wont have a ticket has been to the base to see our other friend graduate so hopefully she remembers what to do). We are staying at Navy Lodge Thursday night but if I cant see my son much on Saturday we wont stay Friday night. He has his wife and baby to spend time with too, so as much as I want to, I can't hog him. My friend is going with me to be my emotional support. Sharing him in such an important time in his life is tough on a mom who is there for everything, but its not about me I guess:) Im still trying to find how their group is doing but maybe we aren't to see that anywhere. He is going to A school in Pensacola too! (I may have already mentioned that)
I see that other mom's have gotten personal letters and phone calls in Div.063-064...Geeze Iam jealous. whats going on with the 065.?? Hope everyone is behaving over there. Soon to be one month. Do they go in sequential order of Division for calls and letters? Guess I will check with the GF to see if she got a letter.
Hang in there Ladies....:)
@985Cat-no letter here today, the anticipation is getting to me.
From what I was reading on the other groups, even though they've been there for four weeks they aren't counting the week of Processing. They don't get to write until after week three. Not including P week. This was a bummer for me but now I can leave the mail lady alone! Hahahaha This is just what I understand from the other groups.
FYI, Theres a facebook page for our PIR, Do a FB search for PIR 01-18-13
I have not been able to find the FB page. Not sure what I'm typing wrong?
So I stocked the mail man all day, sitting by the front door and waited for him, I was nervous that I wouldn't get anything but it all payed off! I got my first letters today, 3 in one envelope, I am one happy Fiance(:
