Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

This Group is for those of us who have a Sailor Recruit's Pass in Review January 20, 2012. Please feel free to connect with one another as we will hopefully all be sitting the same room watching not only our own Sailor but all of our Sailors finish their RTC journey and continue on with the rest of their Navy journey. OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

I also started exercising to try to lose some weight before I see my husband again which is hard because I also love to cook/bake. Have you thought about picking up a hobby like baking, sewing, or even scrap booking?

Sorry, you didn't get a letter. Maybe tomorrow will be the day. When my son was in BC, I always received my letters on Thursdays.

Comment by Almyraia (Ship09/Div 45) on November 30, 2011 at 9:21pm: My boy's just 18, but I swear, he has the demeanor of a 40 year old sometymes (and that of a 8 year old at tymes, too, lol). He takes getting yelled at pretty well, he's rather used to it. However, the physical fitness stuff is going to get him the worst. He didn't do much training before he left (my fault, not his), but he's devoted, and will push himself as hard as he needs to, to succeed.
I hope we can all look forward to letters and even phonecalls soon~ ♥

My son was only 18 when he was in BC, but he used to tell me that he wished that some of the "kids" in there would start acting their age. lol
