Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Many recruiters make it out to be a breeze, a dream job, not to worry about a thing. All part of the plan! Luckily, my son had a friend who went in a yr earlier than he did. He called him on his own PIR day, when my son was in DEP, and told him about it. He was more prepared because of that reality, but still....it is a process! Not an easy one! But they come out on the other side so great! My compliments to the RDCs who do great jobs working with SRs from all different backgrounds, life experiences, expectations, etc....they do an amazing job!

My son said he was pretty well prepared for BC too, because we taught him all those things too, lol When I got his first letter, he said that he was pretty well prepared for BC because there was yelling and he was used to that (from his dad, lol) and it was a strict like his high school (he went to private school, lol).

My husband thinks I'm crazy, bet he is kicking himself now ;) When he would fold towels he would just fold them however, I always go back and make them just right. I wonder if he thinks about me every time he has to fold laundry haha
