OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Question for the day...What have you taught your SR, while growing up, to prepare him/her for BC? Let's see, Hmmmm....Shoveling snow in Montana, chipping ice off your vehicle or steps, wear your hat/beanie,gloves/jacket (this one was impossible, you'd of thought we live in Hawaii), Ice Melt on walk-way and shoveling lots of snow :)...Do you think they will have him shoveling snow? LOL
cameowlot, I admit that I laughed out loud at your comment about the cats. I hope they are ok. lol
mome2jord, I also hope that your son is recovery well. A cyber to you and him.
I hope that I have finally figured our my computer problems today. I spent all morning trying to get online. I thought my laptop was the problem, but then realized that our hotspot was not connecting. All it took to fix was to unplug and then plug it back in.
Too funny about the cats, cameowlot. I had a great visual of you heading to that phone!
mome2jord: My son was asmoed as well when there. He told me he entered his next division more determined than ever to get through and out of there (he was there for a total of 10,5 weeks and wanted OUT!). Hoping your son is getting the rest/healing he needs. He will do great when he starts training again!
That is great Sweetlove, I bet in some ways that dream will help you through the rest of this bootcamp journey :-)
mome2jord- I know that must be very hard for you but you sound like a very strong woman and I am sure that all things happen for a reason. I bet he will do much better can and will feel like he can do this and do it well. I hope he stays well and I will have him and you in my prayers.
We would love to have your join our N4Mom ranks, Sweetlove, when you have a sailor...any others are welcome to also!
It is very hard when they leave...but just know that by training week #4 (not bootcamp week #4--remember, they do processing days first that don't count in training), it gets much better for them. You will be able to tell in their letters/calls. They have accomplished alot by then and see the prize in their future. So hang in there, ladies. This is hard for you and hard for them too! But you will have big smiles on your faces soon!
Good morning!
Sweetlove...you will...and we always welcome anyone who wishes to stay on and help support others through!
Hang in there!
Well said mome2jord!
Sweetlove, it is difficult having them leave and I will say that at first when my son left it felt like I was mourning a death and he did not even seem real because I could not talk to him whenever I want. Then things were just getting easier, but then we got a call the day before Thanksgiving that our son had gotten asmoed 2 weeks due to his getting sick and causing him some issues. That was so hard to hear and then to have to go through all that during Thanksgiving was very hard. My son left Nov 1st, so he has been gone a month. I pray that the Lord gives my son and our family strength through all this and then on this past Sunday night God helped shed some light. He showed me that the thing I have to remember is that our son is not in prison (even though I'm sure he feels like it), but this is in fact something he chose to do. Although it is tough for them and more so than they think, I have to remember that our son was not forced to go. That helped me realize that I am being so much more supportive for him when I remember why he is there. As I write him in his letters and encourage him by reminding him that nothing worth gaining is done easily, I have to remind myself of the same thing. So know this journey may not be easy, but as the recruits are taking it one day at a time we have to do the same....and as we move closer to our lovely recruits PIR, remember there is someone who's loved one is just leaving and is in a spot where you have already been. This is where we can be there for each other and that will hopefully help you get through the tough times. Keep your chin up and hugs to you!!!:)
harv- is your SR in band, choir, drill team, flag corp or maybe behind the scenes at PIR?
That is good mom2jord! I hope your son is doing much better!
