Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

This Group is for those of us who have a Sailor Recruit's Pass in Review January 20, 2012. Please feel free to connect with one another as we will hopefully all be sitting the same room watching not only our own Sailor but all of our Sailors finish their RTC journey and continue on with the rest of their Navy journey. OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

I do not approve of waiting for the mailman to decide to show up, especially since our mail people are moody. If it is rainy in the mornings they will just wait until the afternoon to start their routes. :\ I don't want to say anything to them either because that will make them want to take longer to come to my house. ugh

My one friend is supposed to come with me to Great Lakes to help with the kids. I hope she doesn't back out because that is a long trip for just me and 2 kids and I don't want to not take the kids because my husband is going to want to see them too lol.

Sometimes I tell people I miss my son and they tell me I should just be happy he is doing a good thing. I think to myself, when did I say I was disappointed or not happy...I just miss him. I have learned that not everyone understands and I have to be okay with that. I am usually a very private person and as people ask about my son I always try to be positive. Sometimes it is hard when I'm having a rough day. When he left I didn't want to talk to anyone for about a week, it truly felt almost like a death. It will get a little easier, but then we will still have our bad days. Just allow yourself to feel the way you feel and know we are all here for you. We all understand and know that your friends or family are not truly trying to hard on you, they just don't know what it feels like. I hope this will help you as each day goes by.

I'm 3 hours from my family so in this town all I have is my mother in law but I can't always talk to her either ya know?
