Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

This Group is for those of us who have a Sailor Recruit's Pass in Review January 20, 2012. Please feel free to connect with one another as we will hopefully all be sitting the same room watching not only our own Sailor but all of our Sailors finish their RTC journey and continue on with the rest of their Navy journey. OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by futureHMwife on November 25, 2011 at 3:26pm: Cristina, you can start by looking in to how you would be traveling (via plane, train, or driving). Then look through these comments, there are talk of two different hotel with great reviews. I chose Residence Inn because it offered the two room suites that I would need. If you look up at the different discussions FireTeamLeaderWife has started she has a list of places to eat in Great lakes, there is also a list of things you will want to bring. Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions please ask. There is always someone who can answer them for you.

I was hoping to get a phone call from him yesterday, oh well. I know my "I'm alive" phone call will be coming soon. Thank you ladies for some great info, I feel so lost. I haven't even started planning the trip to IL for PIR. I don't know where to start. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)

Comment by Navy Mom x3 on November 25, 2011 at 1:39pm: I hosted and cooked for Thanksgiving yesterday so there was no shopping for me this morning. The only thing I didn't cook was the pearled onions (my mom always makes that!) so I was up at 5am and asleep at 6:30 last night. I was up again at 5 this morning for work. I wish today was declared a National Shopping Holiday so we could get the day off!

Made it out with the 40 inch flat screen I wanted and some other stuff. What a mess that store was...Hope you all hung in there and have fun shopping today. If your shopping, that is :)
