Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please feel free to connect with one another as we will hopefully all be sitting the same room watching not only our own Sailor but all of our Sailors finish their RTC journey and continue on with the rest of their Navy journey. OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

There are too many recruits for them all to get a call. The RDC's have to reserve the payphones...then march over...allow use of the payphones...march back. There just aren't enough phones and time in the day to do so. Some have just been lucky.

My mail man better be on time (if not early) everyday next week! I am ready to get my form letter and if my recruit had time to write home today I want that one too! lol

Comment by Navy Mom x3 on November 24, 2011 at 9:44am: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I still don't have my letter but I'm hopeful it will be here next week. Am I the only mom with a SR in Div 043?

I made 3 chocolate mousse pies last night and had to think of my Sam... for his going away party, he requested chocolate mousse pie (actually, he asked for it when he turned 16 and it took me almost 2 years to agree). Then he hid the final pie in the vegetable drawer in the fridge. He thought nobody would find it there. The drawers are clear and it's not green so we all found it. We waited until he woke up and had that for breakfast on his last Sunday here.

I will pray for a phone call today but I'm sure it's too early... no phone call for any security Nuke stuff so he must have had everything he needed.

Take the time to count your many blessings knowing your recruit is in good hands. Hopefully this time at bootcamp will pass swiftly and you will be hugging your Sailor very soon. I will remember each and everyone of you and your recruits in my prayers and I really hope you get a nice phone call home today. If you do put them on speaker phone and let the whole family tell him/her how proud they are and how they know they can reach this goal. Have a wonder Thanksgiving, Lora
