Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Overnight or Priority Mail Christmas Cards
Is it Okay to mail Christmas cards via USPS Priority Mail or another express delivery service to ensure it arrives by Christmas? Mailing requirements are so strict, I wasn't sure if a Priority Mail envelope was acceptable for deliver to our RS.

What you have to know is that once the mail arrives at RTC, they have their own mail facility there that is run by civilians. So.....they will not have to expedite it to the SRs. The post office's responsibility is just to get it to RTC overnight (and believe me, that doesn't always work either! I have had money refunded in the past when they didn't get it there overnight)---no guarantee it will get to the SRs. In the past, we have not heard it is time beneficial to do this....you can try if you like, but no guarantee that your SR will have the card by Christmas Eve.
