For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Kari/Brensgrandma: Please friend request and trade your personal info that way! We don't want personal info here on the pages for safety reasons. I sure hope it works out! That would be wonderful. Kari, so sorry that you won't be able to get there, but have a feeling you are not the only one. :-( So sad for the weather/flight conditions now.

I need some assistance please. My flight has been cancelled and cannot get any flight out today or tomorrow. I would like to get word to my son. If anyone is going and would be willing to find him for me and let him know please contact me. He is in Div. 77. Also if you would be willing to "adopt" him for the day I would greatly appreciate it. My heart is so heavy with sadness that inwont be there in person.:((((((

Ok, we think that we are expecting I'm a Sailor calls this afternoon from 079/080/912! Keep those phones close!

I am so very sorry jessiesmom....but so glad at least she got to call you. Many times when they don't pass, they get no calls until they do. They will work hard with her now...sounds like she has already improved greatly from before? So fingers crossed! She will not have a PIR, but she certainly will become a sailor and go off to A School! Being with others who are also trying to pass should be very motivating to her...and the RDCs work hard with them. Please stay on this group and keep everyone up to date on her progress! Also, be sure to watch the Livestream of PIR on Friday....you may want to order the PIR DVD for her so she can see it too. After all, she put in all of the work as well! Just had the glitch at the end. You can call the Photo Lab at 847 578 6205 to order the DVD...I believe it is $29. It is mailed to you a few weeks after PIR.

I too received the call last night. She missed the run by 1.24. Time was way better but not enough to graduate. She will not get to try again until Monday. She is now in the FIT program. I have joined that group as well. Thank you all for your continued prayers.
EVERYONE PLEASE HAVE A SAFE TRIP AND ENJOY YOUR TIME WITH YOUR SAILORS.
