~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good morning everyone :)

My daughter was in a push division and it was a performing division. For her it meant she was put into a division almost as soon as she arrived and she had less days in processing. She also graduated a week sooner than we had calculated when she left for boot camp. Once they are in the DIV and you have that info it really won't affect anything as far as PIR goes. They usually just have a little less time to get everything done than most of the other divisions but they always get it done and divisions always graduate when expected. An individual can be held back for not passing a test or physical requirement or for getting into trouble but that doesn't happen that often and whole divisions are never set back. They are threatened to be set back a lot but they always get it together by the end :) Learning to work together as a team seems to be the hardest thing to overcome. And that is to be expected when you bring 80 young men and women together to form a group when they all come from different places, different backgrounds and different believes. Plus they range in age from 17 to their 30's and have very different maturity levels. But they will get there and be a fine work team by PIR :)

Mine said the same thing...said they are a little behind in time but will make it through in time for PIR

Stephen'sMom:  A push division just means that they have fewer days to train....they started a little after the other divisions, but no worries.  They get it all done before PIR!  I understand it is hard to follow their training week/day schedule though since they kind of have their own schedule to follow.

ellen's son was in a push division so she may be able to shed some more light on this.

Beautiful story, jessiesmom.  I know by doing that, it keeps her grandmother close to her.....wonderful that the others in her division are so supportive, and not surprising!  They are a team!

Stephen'smom---my son mentioned that he's in a push division also.

Got a call this evening. He sounded good. He really likes his division. He says he is in a push division. Anyone understand exactly what that means? He said they are doing things in a shorter amount of time.

Isn't it amazing mominconnecticut? I have thought the same thing about my son. He definately realizes how good he had it at home and appreciates me and his dad so much more now. He even admits it!

Hi all....my son is in Ship 4 Div 82. I finally received the letter he told me he was working on when he called on the 21st. (no call today). I have to say he has grown from a boy into a man in just weeks. He has a new appreciation for what home means. It was the best Christmas present I could ever get!! So dam proud of him.

We got our call from our girl she is in SHIP 11 DIV 077 she is doing well. She says it is hard right now but she is ok. She did pass her written test and passed her swim test. she said their are 3 written test so she has two more. She was glad we got our flowers on Christmas eve. So proud of her. Can't wait to see her 1/31/14.
