While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

PERFORMING DIV
Do you have someone in the performing/900's division? Performing divisions info:
There are actually three different performing divisions that rotate. One is a working group called ships staff and they work behind the scenes with VIP's and as greeters, side boys and body snatchers. Side boys for a Receiving line for the VIP's to enter through at the start of the ceremony. Body snatchers walk up and down the isles of sailors and make eye contact and even speak to the sailors to make sure they are not about to pass out. They often lock their knees because they have to stand in one spot for such a long time. If they lock their knees it can cut off the blood flow and cause them to faint. Of course the sailor behind them does their best to catch them Another part of the performing divisions is the flag corps and they carry and perform with the 50 state flags during the ceremony. The third part is known as The Triple Threat. The Triple Threat is made up of the band, drill team and choir and they all perform throughout the ceremony. It is so amazing how they can pull this all off in such a short time and still accomplish all that is to be done during boot camp. They are either chosen for this division or they can volunteer for it. If they have band, flagcorps, drill team, choir, or marching experience they can volunteer. They can also be handpicked or volunteer if they have high ASVAB scores. They don't expect them to need as much time to study which gives a lot more time for practice Once they are in the performing DIV they may be able to try out to be a part of the Triple Threat and be in the band, choir, or drill team. I hope this helps you all understand what your recruits are doing.

...should add that remember they are on "hold" for the weekends in training week/day counts so they may have been on 3-1 today, 3-2 on Monday, or close to that.

ChristieMom: Is your SR in Div 079? Then they would be around training week 3-1 in 079/080.

Tamara: No, the sailors have to return to either RTC or A School base after Liberty on PIR Day....through the weekend for those sailors staying on at GL A School base. No overnights for those students anymore (that changed 2 years ago...overnights for A School sailors in GL used to be allowed). They will definitely want to go to your hotel to take a nice long hot shower....with no shipmates around them! :-)
Christina: Then IT is a blessing for your sailor so he can get that "extra" workout in! My son said one night when they were doing IT, because of a shipmate who did something wrong...and who was not allowed to do the IT with them...had to sit in the middle and watch until he was in tears (as you could imagine, wondering what his shipmates would say/do to him later!)...my son said they did bear crawls, etc for 2 hrs straight until they could hardly move...literally fell into their racks that night, no showers even though he said they were covered in sweat...no one cared because they were beat! :-)

Christie, each DIV will be on a different week/day so it could be 3-1 for one division and 2-5 for another :)

My son said he is gaining weight, because the food is good and they aren't working out very hard or very much! I think he would actually like to work out more!
