For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Yes, it started out as my car almost 11 years ago and then when he got his license 2 1/2 years ago I gave the car to him. I had been driving it again since he left until we sold it yesterday. He had been trying to sell it before he left and then we kinda decided we weren't ready to sell it when he left but then someone contacted us about it for their daughter. So the blue Ford Focus is no longer sitting in the driveway. It's crazy how much a car can mean to you. Just can't wait to see my son again. :)

Cars mean a lot to these boys! They are their "babies" so I can totally understand how hard it is letting go of a piece of them. We just got the transmission rebuilt for my son so he doesn't have to worry about it and a remote start put in. The remote start was for more me and my hubby since we are driving the car while he's away...you kinda get spoiled having it in your own vehicle. For some reason, it gives me so much comfort driving it. I laugh every time...I have no idea how to work the radio!! Oh how I miss that kid!!

Christina, We also sold our sons car last week and I was surprised at my emotional reaction. I guess just one more thing to remind us that they are no longer living at home. I can't wait to see our SR at graduation though. I know that the pride he will feel will be amazing to see.

Christina: Oh boy.....a car is a very personal item, especially to a young person, so I'm not surprised that it was hard to sell that. My son sold his a week before he left...and not seeing it in the driveway was hard for me too. Yep, Bootcamp is a rollercoaster ride, no doubt! But one more step in preparing for a new more independent child/parent relationship that will be very blessed! Seeing how they mature during Bootcamp is so heartwarming...just you wait and see at PIR !

We sold our sons car yesterday. Never would have imagined having an emotional time over the selling of a car. This is one mean roller coaster ride.

Yes, no problem, Jen. They can travel within a 50 mile radius for Liberty so your new sailor should be able to go back home with you for a visit!

No letter :(
I'm pretty sure my son said his division was having their first test today and I was hoping they do well on it and earn phone calls. Anyone else's recruit in div 076 say the same when they called over the weekend?
