Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Wisdom Teeth
Hello there I saw on a few different posting that any recruit with wisdom teeth with get them removed during boot camp how true is that? Will that effect their PIR date?

Not all of them will. Many do.
It will not affect their PIR date. They have a day or two in SIQ (sick in quarters) and get right back going again.

My kiddo wrote home that his wisdom were removed and is still on schedule. I guess they just push through it???

My sr had 3 removed, he said that he would get 3 days to recoup. Have not heard from him since they were removed, but it will not change his pir date. I'm eager to know how it went also.

Hello! I know this is 2015 message. But that’s my question ... will it affect PIR? And there’s a high risk for bleeding after? Are they given time off?

Did you receive your form letter yet? Be sure to join the Boot Camp forum, and the PIR date for your recruit. You will get answers quicker than asking in an older group, not many will see your questions.
To answer your question No it will not have any affect on PIR. The RTC pulls thousands of teeth every year. If there are complications they will be taken care of immediately, an they are given a "SIQ" sick in Quarters day, and two days of LLD (light limited duty).
