OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I got the same news earlier, then today my SR told me that they wont know for sure until the week before PIR. They seem to be getting info now about life after BC so that is a good sign! And yes, we will all be so grateful for any time we can be with them! Have a good night,

I forgot to mention that my SR told me that his RDC has forbidden newspaper in their letters. My SR begged me to not send anymore so he wouldn't get in trouble. Probably just more head games, but I thought I'd pass the info along.

Thank You! My son is SWCC also and he said he will be able to spend the week end with us because he has an additional school in Great Lakes following graduation. I hope this stays that way. My daughter, my son's girlfriend and I are really missing him.

I think it all depends on where your grandson is going. My son is going into the Air Rescue Swimmer's program. He said in his last letter that all the "Air Rescue" guys would probably be leaving late Friday night or early Saturday morning. So I should plan on only 6 to 8 hours of being with him (unless we were planning on going to the airport with him - which we are). I haven't heard anything further from him - of course, with the Navy nothing is written in stone until the final day.

Hi Ladies,
Have you read this? It's very informative from a navy4moms friend of mine, whose son will graduate from the entire rescue swimmer pipeline in just a few weeks. I think he went to bootcamp in July, 2010 and will graduate next month. Go to the Groups page, go to Moms of Rescue Swimmers, and then find The Path of a Rescue Swimmer.

Hi Nannygubbie,
My SR & dellene's SRs are SWCC. Where are you all from? Too bad your daughter can't bring herself to use this site. I know it helped me a lot. I was an emotional basketcase when my son left (wasn't expecting that at all) and not too many people who haven't experienced this understand what we're going through. It's different than sending your kid to college, or them just moving out on their own.
Glad you are here to help your daughter and understand her SR's new life.

we are north carolina,,i tried emailing our conversation for private and securety reasons but was returned. i feel sure after the 8 weeks of bootcamp our boys all know each other. D. says he writes letter while standing in line, plus we can only mail out on sundays. we have 3 letters and 1 phone call to brag about. i told him when he left for bootcamp, to find a happy place in his memory, and when thing get tough go back in time relax and smile. we are now at 19 days away . i hope you, goatlady, and mindy find each other at PIR. i'll share your face book names with her. talk more later. every stay tough. nannygubbie
