Looking to connect with anyone else who has a loved one on the same ship as my son.  I got a call from him today - I WAS SO HAPPY TO HEAR FROM HIM.  He needed information for his security clearance stuff so it was a quick conversation but I don't care.  It was just nice to hear his voice.  He sounded very tired but upbeat if that makes sense.

Yes I just got a call today as well!  My son sounds good. He says today is week 2 day 5 for them if anyone is following the day to day schedule.  It is not as far as we(I) thought because of the holidays (although they are still graduating on 2/10/12). He says the reason they were not able to go to the church for christmas(the one with the pictures) as they were too new in their program. They had just a nice quiet day in their bunks. He says the hardest time is doing 8 count when they all get into trouble and the easiest thing is sleeping. He says that the division does have a flag now and they seem to do really good at marching. He also says that it is cold but no snow on the ground.  He says one of the greatest things is being able to talk to the other guys in his division. He has also hooked up with Sailors for Christ where he can continue his bible studies.

I got a call today too! So happy(:

How are the color choices coming along, ladies?

Good Morning!

Only three responses including mine!  Do you have any suggestions on how to connect with others in our division?

I posted a request to vote for color on 3 different forums and asked if they could respond by midnight tonight.Any and all help is most appreciated!  Thanks.

No idea, I told my SR via mail to let the other SRs know about n4m.com and to have them pass on the word to their families.. So I am hoping we get some more on here soon! :)

great idea.  I will put that in the letter I send to my son today.  thanks!

I hadn't though of telling the navy boys and girls about Navy for Moms so that they can pass it along to their moms I will do that as well.

As far as a color vote-since we are running out of time just have us all agree on one-the others will just have to accept at this point don't you agree? I will go with anything that has either red, white or blue (blue is my favorite) and I prefer the anchor on it. I prefer these colors over the non traditional colors and I prefer the anchor to have it connect to the Navy, but red, white & blue is good too. Just let me know!

Good idea Joirenee.  I think we should give everyone til midnight tonight anyway since that is what I originally posted.  Tomorrow, we should be able to have our color.  There is only one other division left so I think we will be OK.

Would you pls. friend me?  I will send you a request.  I wanted to ask you something.  thanks!

You  might be able to see if it is possible for Lala to do a 3 toned scarf of solid colors.. like one big bar in white, one big bar in blue, and one big bar in red and then an anchor on one of the ends. I am not sure how it would come out.. Would just be an idea and you would have to ask her.. Do not know if she could or not!

Or she could do the fringe scarf for you with the colors..
There is also a nice flag print she has in the fleece.. Up to you if you would want to add an anchor to it.

I honestly don't really care either - I just want to get something.  I love an anchor or red, white & blue too - I'm easy

Did anyone receive an anonymous call tonight? My husband and my phones bothnhad a missed call! Just sick thinking it was our SR!

I like the stars with the red anchor but no one seems to be voting!  What do you do?
