For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Received my form letter yesterday (Dec. 17). He says everything is going well and he already see the changes in himself. So proud but sure do miss him!

Well now...they might have been...I thought they were all last names as that's all they use in BC! So I am sorry if that was the case! It's still probably better to do it privately...then we won't have names flying all over the place...LOL

Me too actually...so I can't blame you...I really think it's wonderful...after 27 years with my hubby I know how much his good men mean to him. They mean a lot to me too...had such a blast sending stuff to them in Iraq. They even gave ME a nickname! My first name with the last initial together...kinda like "Mrs. C" on Happy Days!
I'm a bit of an OPSEC stickler...hubby is law enforcement for his regular job and military reserves...I've had it drilled into me! LaLa wanted to know of I was a hall monitor in school...guilty.
Please PM the group...I'm sure they'd like to connect up further! -

Oh no.. I am not! Thank you for the link.. Just a little flustered, did not know I had coverage until I called DEERS.. had it since 12/6/11 I guess.. so went to the doctor this morning and paid out of pocket.. They said I can speak to claims about it though... just have to get through filling this out.. ugh.

Got several letters yesterday from my SR! It was great to hear from him and know that he is well. His tone was so much better than it was in his first letter so, of course, I feel better knowing that. He passed his first physical assessment and says that he will be carrying a flag during their PIR. At least he should be easier to spot;-) Says the division is great and that he has learned to strip a rack in under one minute but it takes ten to remake it:-)

Alright, I REALLY love the scarf idea! I say we should do it. Any suggestions on colors for Ship 11 DIV 062? I am thinking purple, teal, dark (blood) red, or forest green.
If we are really brave/into finding a scarf we could also go with stripes.. Like gray/purple or red or green.. whatever you think would work! :)
Please get back to me, this sounds really fun and I think that our boys would love it..! Plus, it will help them be able to pick us out easier.. And if anything.. us scarf families can get together and make an even bigger impact with our groups of color! :)
Also, the more ideas the better!

Received my first letter yesterday from my son. He sounded great! And seemed to be really enjoying BC. He said he is one of two RPO's (Religious Petty Officers). He schedules times for SR's to go to chapel and also stands watch in the chapel for services. He said he gets to meet alot of other SR's from other divisions. Some that are ahead of his division. So he is learning alot of what to expect ahead in BC. He also said he didn't have alot of stamps. So I went to the post office today and mailed him a whole book of stamps.
