~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

cupcake:  No worries!  You said nothing wrong.  We can discuss general info about BattleStations on here, just not the specific date for a division.  That has to be private messaged.

Comment by diannep on February 4, 2014 at 11:35am

By the way, I'm the one in the groups who tries to keep track of the BattleStations dates, so if you get one, please friend request or private message it to me!  I have been keeping track of the BattleStations dates for the past 4 yrs and love doing it!

Comment by diannep on February 4, 2014 at 11:34am

BattleStations for this group will probably start during PIR week.  They used to start them the week before PIR week, but haven't done that recently.  Remember, we cannot post actual BattleStations dates on this site or FB.  But you CAN private message them...just post here that you have one for your division (post division number) and let others contact you for it.

It is an overnight drill (12 hrs) and they call after 2 pm Central the next day.  Be sure to read the BattleStations discussion above in the forum for more info!

You are fine, this is the place to ask, as it gets closer though, one of the admins or someone will start keeping track of the dates that each division will go, we just cant say that exactly, like division 00 does battlestations on Monday..but there will be a person of contact to private message..have you read about battlestations on here or seen the CNN video clip, its pretty awesome! They will go in order of there division numbers and with their brother division, things will be posted..this week they are working on Marlin Spike training, next week fire arms, then fire fighting, plus lots of class studies..just keep praying

My son had his PIR in 1/10/14, sorry if that confused you..I'm on here now because my husband's PIR is 2/28/14

It is the last thing! Then they are official, but we dont get the call until after it is comolete! All may not pass, we dont kniw for sure until we get the call..that is a stressful week for all of us, we didn't get our call until the night before the PIR because my son's division was scheduled to go through last
Comment by cupcakegirl14 on February 4, 2014 at 10:55am

Sorry, maybe I'm asking questions I shouldn't be here!  I tried to look to find some where what are the things we can and cannot talk about.  If I say something I shouldn't, someone please tell me!  Good Lord, I don't want to expose anything!!

Comment by cupcakegirl14 on February 4, 2014 at 10:51am

Kelley-ship; I thought battlestations was the last thing they complete before PIR?  Am I getting mixed up?

Comment by Kelley on February 4, 2014 at 10:38am
Cupcakegirl, you get that call after they complete Battlestations, so it depends on what night his division does that, the calls start comng the next day after 2, I got my "I'm a Sailor" call when we were already in Chicago around 4:30 on Thursday night before the PIR..we are not allowed to specifically say what day each division will do Battlestations on here, when it gets closer to that time, the last week, you can private message someone who is keeping track of all of that, so we know when to expect our calls..hang in there!
