~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thank you for the Battlestation: Their Final Test. It was very interesting. Sorry to say I didn't do to well on some of the testing :) Hope you all have a weekend full of letters and phone calls !!!
Hi BigJonsMom! The letter was the second thing I got. The first being the box of his stuff. You should have received your letter by now!
BigJonsMom: Yes, I know what you mean! :-) They get to update their lists a week or so before PIR...so...he can change them then anyway! HAA! Maybe the letter will still show up....our mail system "ain't what it used to be".....we are suffering problems down here with mail not getting where it needs to be. I'm sure that the employees are overworked with budget cuts, less manpower!
On the shuttles, Sarge picks up from most hotels too. Same shuttle price as the area shuttle(taxi) service....$3/pp each way. So that shouldn't be a problem for you if it comes to that. We took the shuttle from Residence (didn't know about Sarge then so used the area service, we signed up for the time at checkin). It worked great for us!
Good Morning All !
Thanks, diannep. He would have sent it here. I think it is just one of those rare "lost" pieces of mail. The weather was very bad for a while. His box arrived as expected. I will write him tomorrow and hopefully he can get us the password. We will hopefully stay at a hotel with a shuttle, though, so it may not be that critical, although it would be nice to see our names on the list in writing before I spend big $$$ on a flight from Idaho to Illinois! haha
Here is the RTC FB page. The photo of Div 92, for winning the Tues Trivia question, is posted along the left of the page. Congrats to them and to the mom who answered the question correctly, getting them the photo op!

BigJonsMom: Hmmmm....no form letter yet....is it possible that your SR sent it to anyone else? They only mail out one, unless they get special permission to mail a 2nd one in a divorce situation (I was told this by a staff member up there, but wonder if the SRs would be too afraid to ask?).
The important part of the form letter is the password to download your gate pass before PIR so you can drive onto the base. Be sure to write your SR and ask for this password. Only your SR can give it to you. If you do not receive it, it is ok. Just means that you need to take a shuttle to PIR....or....park off base, down by the train station (about 1/24-1/2 mile walk to front gate then). But I would try to get it from your SR. Welcome to the group!
Thanks for your help, Tubbysmom! :) We must both have special kids by the names we have given ourselves! haha! I am getting a late start booking hotel and air reservations from Idaho. Can I ask where you are staying?
TubbysMom, this is so amazing to see our boys and they look so happy! Not what I expected! I will sleep better tonight :)
Oh dear, ours must be lost in the mail. It never arrived! Any idea where to begin? I understand it has info that you need if you are going to the PIR and we are planning on it!
