Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Here's that roller coaster again... I'm so happy that we're getting close to PIR, but I wish info would come in faster so we'd know whether our SRs have passed their physicals. My daughter is having her wisdom teeth out today so probably won't start back to training until Saturday or Monday. It's been said a million times already - it's the not knowing that's killing us! ;-( I love and look forward to the letters, but letters should come around Thursday and the phone calls are live and have come on Sunday. Does anyone know if their SR is on siq days if they can call and give an update?

Thanks so much, I love making the ribbons and all the other stuff and I love helping on this site. I would have never survived my daughter being in boot camp if I had not had this site :) Diannep was here then helping people and she was a great help to me :) I am so glad she has stuck around :) And we are very lucky to have Ellen and CatMom here as well. I don't think most people fully understand how much time is spent here helping out and it is all volunteers who make it happen :)

My Son is in Division 95. I'm looking for another single (non-smoking) mom to carpool with and possibly share hotel accomodations. I'm coming from Omaha, Nebraska. Next step and Mamma Shell.....our SRs are all in same division. My son honor guard. Performing in 2/7 grad and his own on 2/28. Next Step, be brave and make the trip, you'll be glad you did. Watch a grad on line so you know how it goes. I watched three so far and cried at all three and didn't even know anyone in the class. it's a most impressive ceremony.
