OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Not sure, my son also arrived on the 8th. I was surprised to get the box already.

My son arrived at GL on 1-8-14. Does that mean his PIR date is 2-28-2014? I'm kinda confused.

Just got my "kid in a box". He's only been gone 1 week tomorrow. Much faster than when my daughter went to RTC. Recruiter said everything is moving a bit faster due to the holiday shut down. I'd been dreading this day.

Push divisions are divisions that have less time to train. It can be difficult to follow the day to day schedule since they may not be following it. Things can be done earlier or later than the "normal", but it will be close. No worries, they will get it all done, and on time.

Before he left the recruiter did mention that graduation date could be one of 2 weeks. So we had an idea it was one or the other, but just really glad its the early one!! It makes me very happy too!

What does the Push div really mean? Are they going to be rushed through things. Also, any one reserve? I have a question. She goes to A school in Dam Neck for 89 Calendar days, if I did my calculation will she me home in july. Also, if I drive up her car will the navy pay her to drive it back to florida once she is done with her A school?

I know, I didn't expect such an early PIR date. What thinking first or even second week in March. Very happy!

Hello everybody! Very excited for the early PIR of 2/28, the sooner I get to see my son. He is Ship 14 Div 092. I am very happy for this site, I have found out some awesome information and hope to keep meeting wonderful people who are also going through the same emotional roller coaster. A big thank you to the veterans on all these groups that given great information, you are truly appreciated. I am excite to get to know all of you and maybe even see you at Great Lakes!

My SR is in Div 092. So excited. Get to see my son earlier then expected..... :)
Comment by Mary Anne on January 14, 2014 at 1:52pm
My SR is division 916 with this PIR date. He's in a push division so he's only at RTC for 7 1/2 weeks. Happy mom here!
