~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

6 Divisions is a nice small PIR group! There will be lots of space in PIR Hall. Unfortunately it doesn't mean you can bring in "extras," still only the 4 guests on your SR's list can attend...but you won't be cramped. We have had some PIR groups with 15 divisions! YIKES! Very full!
Welcome, Jordan! Glad you are here.
You can't message anyone until you are their "friend." If you see someone post on here that you want to friend for any reason, just click on their picture or screen name. That takes you to their "page." There on the left side, you will see "Send a Message" and "Add a Friend." You can click on either of those and it will send that person a friend request.
Once they accept it, their photo icon appears on your personal page and you can private message! It really is alot easier than it sounds. Just remember that you can private message anyone unless you friend them first, or they friend you first!
Read back through the posts on here for some info. We N4Moms veterans will be adding info as bootcamp progresses. We just don't want to overwhelm you all at first!
Heyyyyy everyone!! My husband is in RTC right now as well and his is Ship 13 DIV 102!! I am new to this website so I have no clue how to message anyone or anything but please feel free to contact me and any advice will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you :)
I went to the grocery store and walked by the Little Debbie display, I looked at the Oatmeal Cream Pies (my sons favorite) and lost it. Another shopper asked me if I was OK, and I responded with "yes, no my son is in Navy BC and these are his favorite". She chuckled at me gave me a hug and said "when you see him. tell him thank you for his service, and I will say a prayer for your family tonight sweetie." I took a deep breath and continued shopping, tears flowing the entire time. Like Lala said, it will get better, I promise.
So true Betsy, and you can rent a car for the whole weekend cheaper than one cab ride from the airport to the hotel. Much cheaper to rent a car.
I think I cried pretty much every single day. If I didn't get a letter I cried, if I did I cried, if I didn't get a call I cried and if I did I cried lol and it was not good to run into friends in the store, at church or anywhere else, all someone had to do was ask how she was doing and the tears would start flowing. My poor hubby (fiance at the time) would just look at me and shake his head and say she's fine, honey she's fine. If I had a dollar for every time he said she's fine I could retire to the FL Keys lol and I could leave today :)It will get better, I promise.
GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES!!!!! ugh the crying .... yup the only ones who understand.... IS US!!!! it does get better.... little less crying as your SR's make each milestone... then all of a sudden ITS TIME FOR PIR and yes MORE CRYING but not sadness because you miss your SR but YOU GET TO SEE THEM GRADUATE omg I COULD NOT STOP... I saw another div just marching around when i got to the base... my younger son said Mom don't turn around, well duh I TURNED AROUND ... instant ball bag... then sitting in the stands... meeting ALL THE MOMS/FAMILIES that post here!!! you get excited.... I CAN'T WAIT for you guys to experience it ... ONE word of advice.... STAY AWAY FROM THE ECONO LODGE in Gunree ... i called it the ECONO- NO NO Lodge ugh AWEFUL.... HAVE A GREAT NAVY DAY...
