~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Evening all, hope everyone had a good weekend, today was a little difficult, had about a 45 min. cry, unable to share my sadness with my husband since he would probably make some comment about me still crying, he just doesnt understand the bond between a mom and her son. Needless to say im missing my son alot, hoping for a letter or phone soon, hope everyone is doing well.
I do have a question, is it too soon to book hotel rooms, with the understanding everything goes well (fingers crossed)?
((Hugs)) to all...
classicplbghtg, Even if you dont get the password, you can park your car across the street at the Metra Station and walk over to PIR. You can still get in to the drill hall for PIR, you just can't park on the base.
So excited just booked my hotel room for my SR graduation!! Staying at the Ramada inn!!! upgraded to 2 queens for just 79.00 per night!!! No flight yet thought!! They guy at the hotel just told me the high next week is only like 2!!! so happy to be in Arizona right now!! lol
Thank You Ellen0502 and everyone else i wrote to him and hopefully i will get password maybe he shut envelope and realized who knows cause i really want to go to graduation at least i know hotels i guess loli guess i have to have patience:)
classicicolbgtg, We don't know if they are by division, TG, individual etc. Your SR will know the password, ask in your next letter.
is the password the same for the group or is it individual because i know someone whose in that division just in case
Yes, correct, Barby, about BensonMom.
So BensonMom: Be sure you keep that original form letter with that password so when you need to get the new password for this group, you can give the Public Affairs Office (PAO) your original PIR date/original password! Very important! Once they have this info, they will be able to give you the new one.
Ladies, the password will be used to download the "gate pass" starting 11 days before PIR. There will be a "get gate pass" prompt then on the "Upcoming Graduations" RTC page. This gate pass is needed for any car entering RTC. Those riding the shuttle will not need it, but I suggest that all plan to download and print it just in case. Also, if you drive to return your sailor to RTC that night and want to drive onto the base, you will need the pass. I have also heard that if your sailor moves over to GL A School base, the RTC gate pass gets you on that base initially...not positive on that, maybe ellen knows? But think so.
Just telling you this now so that you put the letter in a safe place and maybe even write down the password to store in a couple of safe places...on your home calendar and maybe in your purse??? Some ladies in the past have gotten ready to print out their gate pass, only to realize that they have lost the form letter with the password! Not a good thing! Keep it safe! :-)
So strange to only receive the pamphlet maybe he realized it and you will get the letter in a couple days :)
