~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

thank you diannep for the clarification..... sounds like BensonMOM will have to do this since her SR was asmo'd .....
BensonMOM i know not hearing is a bummer but you are right MOVING FORWARD is a great thing!!!!
You all are awesome here! lots of info and all the same stresses! Today will probally be the first Sunday in the last month That I havent got to talk to my SR! :( But he is finally moving forward and hopefully will get a letter by wed! with renewed hopes inside!
classic: Is it possible the the form letter went to anyone else? They can only mail out one. However, I think he would have only been allowed to mail out one envelope...whether it contained the form letter/pamphlet or just the pamphlet. Hmmm....please be sure to write him and ask about this. Only he can give you the password for PIR.
And, no, Barby: PAO will not give out passwords....except for those who were asmoed to a later PIR group...and then only if the person contacts them with the original password. That is the reason you were able to get the new one...because you had the old one! :-) I had to do the same thing when my son was there. But we see all of the time that ladies who just never received the password or lost the form letter contacting the PAO and they won't give them the word.
So, classic needs to get this from her SR. Shouldn't be a problem getting it. You have plenty of time!
ok THAT is confussing.... on the form letter is a PASSWORD for your gate pass. write to him and ask if he remembers what he wrote, if not NO WORRIES later on in training you can get intouch with the PAO office on base at great lakes and they can help you out... They helped me out when i needed a new one since my Sailor was ASMO'd due to broken feet.... GOOD MORNING LADIES
yes i only received pamphlet i am confused maybe he forgot?
classicpibghth: The "form letter" usually arrives with the hotel info pamphlet. It is a printed letter where the SR fills in the info. Did you receive the pamphlet and no form letter???
I received just the hotel pamphlet is it a hand written letter or just a date on the pamphlet i know he hates to write and its typical but i was wondering if its a certain letter that comes with pamphlet
He forgot to write the PIR date on the form letter? Well, no worries. You know that this is your group from his division number and this is his PIR date. The address is the important thing so you can write!
Good Morning all!
I was just reading info about the graduation and my son wrote address and ship and division and inside was just a pamphlet with hotels but i did not have a date written anywhere or any other info i know its 03/01 because someone else is in same division. Why is that did he just forget it someone please help me with this info because i am confused about this thanks for any help
Hello, another veteran mom here. My son was in boot camp almost a year ago (my how time flies) and is now back in GL (after A School graduation and stand down) awaiting orders.
Good to see y'all getting your form letter. For those of you who are still waiting hang in there it is coming. It was 18 days before I received mine.
Time will fly by faster than you think it will!!
