Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

You can go to expedia or hotwire or even kayak, and they can give you the best deals with all the different car places in that area. :) Good luck!!

GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES..... love to see NEW MOMS WELCOME ABOARD!!! My Sailor texted last night... said him and a few shipmates went and played LASER TAG .... life of a sailor LOL.. I KNOW you are on pins and needles waiting for that phone to ring.... it will ... SOOOOOON!!!! Have a great NAVY DAY

We are staying at the Ramada. Son is in DIV 103. No contact at all yet. I was reading on this one sight that they usually get their wisdom teeth pulled if they hadn't already. They give them a couple days to rest if they decide to do it. Wondering if my kid did. He mentioned something to me before he left about having it done. Wish I would get a letter or something so I'd know! I also read that the phone call wont come till at least the 4th week of boot camp. SIGH!

Ladies, don't forget that you have discussion groups above also to chat in....a great place to share news that you are receiving from your SRs who are in the same divisions as far as what they are doing now, etc. But stay on this main page too as we will be posting lots of info!
