In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

Im still waiting for the letter to come, I  think that my daughter is in the group,   Waiting for the letter to comfirm..

I just received mine Saturday

Have you received your letter yet?

How are things going for you?  Have you received your letters and any phone calls?

Does anyone have any advice on what hotel to stay at near Great Lakes Naval Station?  We are looking for a pet friendly hotel.

My son is in this division and has written to me that he is Master at Arms. I am really proud of him but miss him like crazy and can't wait to get a real actual first letter. He also called home this Sunday and said he would be calling this coming Sunday.

Congrats to him.  My daughter is not fairing as well. Of course, she is 19 and away from home for the first time.  She will hopefully learn quick and keep up the good fight.  I miss her like crazy too!

Sarah's mom, you had asked about hotels. My family and I booked at the Navy Lodge, which is for active and retired military, if that helps. Not sure if they accept pets.

We found a pet friendly hotel in Waukegan and it is very close to Great Lakes Naval Station.  We are staying at Crosslands Economy Studios.  Only 65 a night and a small kitchenette to cook in.  Hopefully save money on eating out.

My daughter called last Sunday.  Not sure if and when she will be able to call again.  I have not received any more letters as of yet.

I am dying for a letter.

Me, too. No real letter as of yet. And he did NOT call Sunday as he thought he would be able to. I came home 2 hours early from work and waited 4 hours by the phone. I am heartsick. I am getting ready to go out and get stamps to send him another letter. This time I included several pages of quotes from our favorite movies: Pulp Fiction, My Cousin Vinny and Chappelle's show. I hope these make him laugh and feel like he is closer to home than he is. I also hope they don't scan the quotes and some are pretty off color! haha
