OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello all fellow shipmothers, girlfriends, best friends, aunties, grammas, sisters, etc...

Just wondering who is in the same ship and division as my son.  I live in Wisconsin and will be staying at the Navy Lodge for the PIR ceremony.

My son will be going to Groton after PIR.  I haven't gotten a phone call from him yet but am excited to hear from him.

Thats GREAT news!!!!! I am so excited!

That's fantastic! Did he mention whether or not they had gotten any of our letters?

Thats Awsome news I cant wait!!!!

Well, even if we didn't win the trivia today there is always NEXT WEEK! Here's to hoping we all get letters/phone calls this week too!

I was in class and my teacher would not quit hovering!! hahaha!! Maybe next week!! and Emmie we should all gets letters this week :)

lol! I will be using this week to look through the RTC website, maybe next week I'll be better prepared! I don't know if I'll get a letter, because he may send one to his mom first. Hopefully by the end of the week though!

well, if does send one to your mom first, I hope she shares! We have a deal with our sr's girlfriend...tell all!!!!! I would really like for him to mail her first, she is having a harder time with this than his dad and I.

Well, his mom and I haven't ever really gotten a long very well. I've been dating him since we were juniors in HS (I'm a sophomore in college now), and she and I just never talked and we hardly agree on anything. However, since he's been gone we're like best friends. I text her almost every day with new information I've found (mostly from here, haha) and shes called me and let me know everything that they've mailed her as well as making me copies. So, maybe she and I have an unspoken deal too!

"missing someone gets easier every day because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will." posted on FB by my sons girlfriend...this speaks from the heart!

that's cute :)   here's to hoping we get letters tomorrow or thursday!!!

Guys I recieved his letter this morning I am so excited he is doing great.  I hope you all get letters today!!!  Yeah
