Can someone explain the reason why my SR will not be able to visit us at the Gateway or Navy Lodge if he will be staying for A school?

Hello All! We are Ship 2 Div 917. Very exciting time. Phone call yesterday was great! My son sounded good although he does have a cold. This is my 2nd trip with Navy, older son PIR 5/2011. so little brother followed suit.
I believe our A school is Pensacola for AD. That being said which is better Navy Lodge or Navy Gateway? Last time we stayed at Ramada Inn.

Welcome G'smom!

We do not know yet how many guests will be allowed.  It depends on how many divisions are in this group.  12 or less....4 guests; 13 or more.....3 guests.  Fingers crossed it is 12 or less!

My son arrived BC 1/12 & I haven't gotten form latter yet, but recruiter told us he's in ship 11, div. 105 & that his PIR is 3/6. How many guests will each SR be allowed at this PIR?? 3 or 4?

Just a headsup for those with sailors staying in GL for A School.  We suggest you not stay at Navy Lodge.  It is a great place to stay, great price, but lately, some of the sailors staying in GL for A School have not been allowed to visit their families at the Navy hotels, which are Navy Lodge and Navy Gateway.    This has not affected  those sailors who are flying out....at least not yet.  There are plenty of civilian hotels to stay at, some for about the same price as Navy Lodge.  Just make sure to call the hotel directly and ask for the Navy Graduation discount.

We also suggest that you check the hotels you are interested in by checking them on TripAdvisor.com.
