Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 103 and 104

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi Bethina - alright - some more Georgia peeps! : ) Nice to meet you! If you are on Facebook - you might want to join the "Georgia Navy Moms Group" -- they are talking about getting together Feb. 22 (I think)! Some of the moms in the group have new Sailors, Sailors that have been in the fleet for a number of years and so on.

Big Shooter - I can't remember if I mentioned this site to you already - but please check it out!

Would love to meet you both in person! : ) Of course I know our day is coming March 14th for sure!!! : )

Thanks shw92! I shared your information with my husband since our son is in the same division & he said "we'll I know it isn't our kid that's doing the talking, cause he's always quiet" I received my first personal letter from my son today...he must've written it shortly after finishing his 1st week there. He said they got their blue cammos & winter gear & he was excited to be moving into his permanent division. He shared the first few days were a little rough, with no sleep for 40 hours & doing boring processing stuff, but really likes it so far. I was happy that he seems to be adjusting to boot camp after all!
Laurablue and Erica7513- my son is also going to Pensacola for A school after PIR 3/14.
It's nice that they're in the same division & then will get to be together for A school...somehow it makes the transition a little easier when you know some people around you. My son will be studying air traffic control there.

Good evening! Has anyone received letters today from their SRs? My son's friend posted on FB that she received two letters from him today. (Side note: Really? How did she get two letters and I haven't seen a single one? Ok - rant over!) I haven't seen our postman - the weather has been crazy in Atlanta though. Just thought I would check! Dying to hear the latest! : )

I just got my first real letter about an hour ago.  I hope you get yours really soon!  A good friend of mine lives in the Atlanta area and she said it took her 5 hours to go a couple of miles to pick up her kids from school the other day!  She finally abandoned the car in a parking lot on the way home and they walked on the slick sidewalks and roads to get home.  I bet those roads could slow down the mail too. :(  Praying that all that weather craziness is getting better for you, BigShooter and everyone in the Atlanta area.

shw92 - so glad you got a letter - that's awesome! I heard from another one of my son's friends who got a letter from him too - the letter was dated Jan. 16 - he said that Boot Camp isn't that bad! I guess it isn't after two days - not even (he got there Jan. 14)! LOL Yeah - the Atlanta traffic was just unbelievable! Glad your friend made it home! One of mine had to spend the night in her car on I-285. Scary! It's supposed to be in the 60s this weekend - so we should be back to "normal!" Praying for mail tomorrow! : )

Popeyesgirl, I just received my first letter yesterday. It was short, but I was glad to hear from him. We live in southern Indiana, so not too far from Great Lakes. Hoping your letter comes soon, I'm sure the weather has played a part in delaying it!

Thank you! I'm still keeping an eye on the mailbox! The mailman went up the street a little bit ago -- so I'm hoping he comes back down with mail for me soon! I will be there to greet him! LOL

Still waiting for my first letter from my SR. Sigh.... hope it comes tomorrow. So glad you ladies have received your letters, it gives me hope that mine is coming. Have enjoyed all of your stories and hopefully can meet you at the meet n greet before PIR
Just looked at my phone & my SR's picture is on it with a countdown clock... 6 weeks, 0 days, 0 hours, 35 minutes, 15 seconds until PIR!!! Everyone have a great Friday!!!

Where do you get a countdown clock for your phone? I need one of those too! : )
