Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 103 and 104

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Erica7513, my son is in DIV 103 & he will be going to A school in Pensacola too. Maybe they have been able to buddy up, since they'll both be going to the same place after PIR!

My SR is quite a talker and will make friends with just about anyone, so I'm sure they've been able to buddy up. It makes me feel better knowing he'll have someone he knows in Pensacola!

LOL BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE! Thanks for trying! Yes let's hope they are DIV 104 :)

Mom of 5.  My SR is going to San Diego for A school.  He is 104.

To everyone else...If you are driving up for the PIR and need a pit stop in the Cincinnati area let me know.  My husband was a Navy Seabee for 22 years.  We are used to strange people stopping in and staying the night.  I think we are 6-7 form GL.  I have to mapquest it to be sure.

Good morning Ladies ,

I hope today finds you doing well. Another day has passed and we are all another day closer to seeing our SR's, and hopefully meeting some of the ladies from here that has been a great help to each of us. I jst wanted to say goodmorning and thank you with all my heart for the support. It has truly helped me.

Thank you tzmom , Good morning to you too !  I find it crazy to find you here and know that our boys already know each other and have connected!  I think my son said that your son was in the rack right next to him.  Did you make your reservations already?  Are you staying at the Navy Lodge?  Would love to meet you then and there if so!

Yes !! We booked with navy lodge too... I really want to meet you too. I am glad our boys have each other as well to lean on . They will hopefully help each other throughout their experiences .

What day are getting there? with weather and stuff we decided to go on wed. just in case we have to change anything, we will have time

tzmom  We too are getting there on Wed. Are you flying out of Sac? with SW? we get into midway at 2:30 I think....wouldn't it be funny if we are on the same flight!?  I will have my husband, 17 yo daughter and 22 yo son with us.  We too did it because of weather.  I don't even want to risk missing anything! :)

Okay, ladies, I got another phone call this morning!  My SR needed more info for his security clearance.  Hooray!  I enjoy hearing the details of your conversations, so I thought I'd share some of what I learned while on the phone with him.  He says in DIV 103 they've moved bunks a lot. They just had them change bunks again last night, and he thinks this might be their final locations.  He told me the name of his new bunk mate, but I don't think I can share that here and he hadn't found out that SRs job yet.  He said that he hasn't received my first letter yet.  I thought he might get it by the end of the week and he said that their mail may be interrupted for a while because the SR in charge of that is going to be SIQ (sick in quarters) for some dental procedure for a couple of days.  He says their DIV is still working on the teamwork.  It goes pretty good in most things, but some of the guys just won't stop talking when they're supposed to, which is causing some problems. He says they've been getting a lot of "motivational speeches" about it from some of the leaders in the division, but so far it's not helping. I'm sure that will get better soon, because he shared that those push-ups for IT are killer! They attended a Captain's Mast (hope mast is the right word) yesterday.  I gather it is some sort of disciplinary, court sort of thing for when SRs get in trouble.  Anyway, it sounded like it made a big impression on him and he's determined to never be there himself!  Thankfully, he's not inclined to getting into trouble!  They have an inspection tomorrow.  He is a little worried about the two hours of standing for that (is two hours right?).  He's got the rack stowing and the folding and stowing down, but I guess getting the buttons undone on his uniform before folding, within the time limit is still giving him trouble. His first Sunday liberty he spent on studying, writing letters and shining his boots.  He seems to be a little anxious to learn it all and didn't take time out for chapel yet. Hoping he does this week. The yelling is not as bad as he expected.  At any rate he feels like they're not mad when they yell, they just want something done right now!  I could tell he likes his RDC.  He's learned my SRs name and face and that he can count on him to get something done, so he's getting called on a lot.  But he's not complaining about it, he seems to be pleased about it. So far he's passed the swim test, primary physical exam and the the DEP advancement test, so that was a relief to him. The funniest thing he shared is that he's experiencing some "phantom hair" sensations.  He'll feel like he needs to move it off his forehead and when he goes to brush it away, it's not there!  LOL  When they shaved it off, he said that was the moment that it all became real that he was there to stay and he was in denial and wouldn't look in the mirror for quite awhile!   However, when he felt tired while running laps after that he motivated himself with, "You can't give up now, they cut off your hair for this, so you'd better make it worth it!"   Ha ha!  Whatever works!  His tone sounded really upbeat and I can tell he's really adjusting to life at RTC, in spite of the lack of sleep. Actually he sounded like he's really starting to enjoy BC!  They sound like they're in good hands in DIV 103 and 104, so I'm sure all of your SRs are doing great as well!  Hope all you moms have a great day!

How awesome is that? Thank you so much for sharing! I have stopped what I'm doing (trying to work - ha!) to make a list of questions for my SR based on your message! Oh - thank you, thank you! So nice to hear what's going on!

Wonder if they'll get to call this weekend? Maybe not if some have been busy talking! Yikes!

Hey popeyesgirl, I think our SRs were on watch together last night.  Mine mentioned being on watch with the Starboard watch (group leader?...he forgot the exact title).  That's your SR I think?  He said something about a mistake they had to resolve when watch was over, but that they got it worked out just fine.  :)
