OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

Have not received my letter yet, but pretty sure my son is in this sh/div as well. He should be going to Pensacola as well.

That's great.  I don't have my letter yet either.  I got the info from the recruiter.  I got tired of waiting and went on ahead and mailed his letters today.  I hope that wasn't a mistake.  What is your son going in for?  Mine is airman apprentice.

I do NavySoccerMom. My daughter is ship 09 div 091. And going to Pensacola for her A school. It is very nice to meet you!!!

It's great to have you in our group Yelomoon.  We now know our division is co-ed.  Have you received your letter yet?

We received our form letter saturday. I mailed two letters out today. lol I am writing one a day.   My daughter played soccer in all through school.

My husband just called, and we got our form letter. Yeah!!!  My address was right, so he should get his letters.  I sent 3 envelopes with 13 letters from me, 2 from his little brother and 9 from friends that came to his send off party.  So, he will be reading for a while.  I write one every day also.  I feel so much relief just getting that letter in.  He said he was having fun and wouldn't give up this experience for anything.  He also added that he now knows how to make a bed. LOL.  Just made my day.

My daughter is Ship 09 Div 091!  She arrived at GL Monday the 23rd.  She and 8 other girls were the last to join the division. She wrote that she wasn't even finished processing (Wednesday) but Week 1 Day 1 was probably going to be on Thursday.  She has a lot to catch up on but is confident she will be able to do it.  A little bit of good karma, her favorite sports number is 91!  Has been for many years.

my daughter didnt go in on the buddy system, does that make a difference?

my daughter is too.  It is very nice too meet you.

I recieved my letter on Saturday. My Daughter is going to be a HM and goes to San Antonio TX for "A" School

Congratulations. I have family members in TX.  I wish her the very best!!!  What does HM stand for?

Woohoo! Received my letter today. Ship09 div 091 confirmed. He is going for AT (aviation tech/electronics) in Pensacola (i think-best i can tell) We live in South Florida so excited he'll only be 9hrs away.
