I got a letter today!!!!!!!!  It was dated 1/24 inside and post marked 1/30!!!  My son still had his sense of humor and seems to be doing well.  He says the "chow" is pretty good.  They got their NWUs and their names were already sewn on. He said it was pretty cool to see your name on your chest.  I am so happy to hear from him and I know the rest of you should be receiving letters soon. :)

Kitty...so glad to hear someone got mail today!!! Your SR sounds like he's doing very well.  Seeing their names sewn on must be huge!!  What a great pick me up for them.  Can't wait for my snail mail here in Florida.  Fingers crossed for tomorrow:)

Hi Candy...My son is in your son's division and I know how you are feeling -- empty!!  I'm trying to stay busy, making plans for PIR, and thinking positive thoughts.  I think we should get mail this week. This is all new to me too.  I truly believe that "no news is good news". We are 2 weeks into this and it has to get better for us and our boys!!  Take care of yourself, try not to worry.  I will let you know if I get mail today.  Please do the same.  It's coming...I just feel it:)

I GOT A LETTER!!!  I don't know what it says yet but I GOT A LETTER!!!  I have to work 3 more hours while my letters sits at home waiting for me   UGH!!!  I don't want anyone reading it to me.  IT'S ALL MINE:)  I hope everyone still waiting for their first letter gets it today too!!

It sounds like your son is doing just as he should be:)  and yes, I'm sure my son's girlfriend got 10 minutes too LOL    I can't wait to get home; I am not the most patient mom on here, trust me.  I'll tell you all about it tonight.

I went to where my husband worked yesterday and we read it together. Hang in there everyone!! The letters are on the way!!!!! YoooooooHah

Keep us posted!!!  I am so happy for you and all the others who are receiving letters.

Finally got home to read my letter and it was so worth the wait!  My son sounded good, worn out and probably stressed but just kept saying "I'm good, it's not that bad and don't worry about me".  His letter was dated 1/29 and I received it today, 2/2.  He told me about his days, his shots (not much fun) and his 4-5 hours of sleep every night.  He said he thinks he might get to call home this weekend.  Guess what I'll be doing this weekend--sitting by the phone LOL  I'm going to sleep good tonight

I just got my first letter yesterday n my son is doing good he is a PFC n one of the guys he is close 2 has laundry duty 4 85 guys so if u know who that is r kids r fine at least they have each other

My SR has a Nickname: TN cause the Petty Officer asked if he was from KY. No Petty Officer close I am from TN so the name stuck. Came back from lunch and his rack was the best. He sure didn't do that at home!! I need to see what happens to the SR if they don't do it at home!!  He reads to the other SRs around them from his Bible. If anyone has a SR around them they call TN let me know. Hope we all get phone calls this week end!!!
